Re: Hypersynth Xenophone
featuring the novel SQUAW and TRARE waves....banish 'dem pesky low-amplitude harmonics :o i sure hope you get to PWM those shapes. even better to LFO with 'em while they're being modulated S&H->S&G(lide) i guess maybe some innovation in one box here. but no proto, clips or nothing yet, hmmm aestheti...

Re: Name some underrated/hated synths that you like
arp solus get all the bread and butter (mk3)odyssey leads and bass for half the price the catch is that it's not a full-on proper synth (no noise or sample&hold, just one EG) but it does have a ringmod that shreds something fierce...this synth will tear you a new arsehole it's more what i'd hoped th...

Re: Tying to find out what synth was used
a hundred different synths could do that sound. most any monosynth will get there; this one sounds more Roland late70s/early 80s to my ears. it's also somewhat overdriven somewhere in the recording chain. doesn't have to be the synth itself. that's a blown out square wave D&B bass that's fairly stan...

Re: synths: more with less OR less with more?
it is only a matter of self-discipline it's like asking an artist to limit their palette to just primaries - so no possibility of reaching that special Ultramarine or Prussian blue using just one blue...you're just working with mixtures that can approximate them based off (most likely) cyan blue ins...

Re: Name some underrated/hated synths that you like
Hardware sequencers in general have really fallen off. only in the MIDI realm, which leaves a h**l of a lot to be desired anyway so that's no big loss at all au contraire, there are more analog sequencers around now than ever...at least 100 different ones can be bought new today, no joke. there is ...

300 is cheap vs. buying a polyphonic synth - assuming one already has several monosynths, which is who this is aimed at. did yamaha sell those for under 300 when they were new or something?...and hexidecimal editing only eh? :? this FR plus a couple volca keys and you got yourself a dandy 6 voice(so...

Re: was the pro 5 the only funk synth
the juno does not have a mod wheel. Huh? #-o it's got a bender, which is effectively an offset voltage for the destination and it's got the momentary 'button' with variable intensity but no kind of modwheel. so no setting a wheel to wherever and leaving it; it's only momentary it's about playing st...

Re: Tangerine Dream, Late 1981.
eh, some later records like TransSiberia and Mars Polaris...oasis...is very good stuff. but yeah - better to call them Froese records than TD proper. His backing 'band' the last 20 years has been a rather laughable excuse to call TD. I hate to say it, but many of those electronic music pioneers, lik...

the first hour and a half of the Hardcore Ed. is all historical documentary material, w/ bits from interviews w. Subotnick, Deutche and a few others unless i missed it over 2 casual viewings, it seems they neglect to mention Bode, or Ray Scott. Apparently the Sackbutt was deemed more relevant to mod...

Re: David Morley (A God?)
Apart from being a very good producer and competent synth programmer, David is a genuinely kind and down-to-earth bloke. You don´t meet this type of people very often. Stephen indeed +1 such a cool guy - he's given me props on my videos repeatedly, and shares knowledge readily. the community could ...

Re: Why so Many Phatties?
I have TWO cats Then sir, somewhere in your future, I suggest, is a modular. But I do sense a growing ping on my stance-radar that Moog is slowly being shoved into the box of plain, basic, boring and mundane. Where it seems, the very tone we had collectively decided was the pinnacle of synthesis is...

Re: Likelihood of Virtual Analogs To Truly Become Vintage Pi
1000% likely - as VINTAGE is not a scientific designation but a subjective one. The only 'requirement' is merely indicating age. it's abused so often as a marketing term that it will likely fall out of favor and be replaced by a more apt term that was not invented for indicating that "the wine was g...

Re: New analog boxes from Korg?
What makes this particular speculation exciting is that Korg has shown us that perhaps there is a development path to a true analag poly in the 500-800 dollar range. [/quote] much as i'd like it to be possible...i doubt it heavily they just put out the ms-20 which is: a) already existing design, so...
