Re: Juno60vsJupiter8
Juno-60s are SUPER overpriced these days... I mean stupidly so... if you want THAT sound, get a juno-6 yeah i saw one that was mint-y on EBay for over $1500...not that it will sell for that but, that is close to what they cost new in 1982 ffs and it's going to need work on the caps at least unless ...

Re: Modern Arp Odyssey equivalent?
^^^that's gotta be the strangest VA substitute I've ever heard of^^^^
an OB-12 sounds like an Oddy? To me it sounds like a gritty digital synth with not enough power in the DSP to sound even remotely like a classic VCO analog, but hey - whatever works for ye!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ajLjOBSxWc&feature=related ^^^^^^^^^ there ya go man the modular synth video - was just a bunch of STATIC... thats what i heard - it wasn't even filtered noise. static? there's a VCA being gated by some f**k clock or something. there are obvious breaks in the noise. ...

Re: Modern Arp Odyssey equivalent?
you can buy the filter in various formats and maybe get a little bit of the sound, but all in all i don't think any synth made since really comes very close to the sound of those 70s ARPs. i'm not exaggerating when I say that the digital emulations still have a very long way to go yet, to come anywh...

Re: What is your favorite pad synth?
NOT-SO-SECRET SECRET TIP: two cheap/OK synths MIDI'ed together and run through some half-decent FX can do waaay better pads than one "awesome synth" can by itself great pads come from imagination and musicality - not up-to-date-do-it-all circuitry after the initial 'wow' wears off most pads in the n...

Re: ~$1k American Monos to Add to SH-2 and CS-15
So what I'm looking for is basically a set of relatively simple analog 2-oscillator monos. I'm looking to add some American beef to the current setup. The contenders right now are the Pro-One and Multimoog, with a possible leap to an OB-1 if the price is right. I'm not looking to spend Odyssey mone...

Re: John Bowen Solaris mega synth my goodness
Buy Alchemy and a good knobby controller and forget about the Neuron. so alchemy does resynthesis w/ the Hartmann code now? I can't imagine anything sounding like a Neuron. It's got the most distinct sound of any digital synth I've ever had, along w/ FS1R and kawai k5000. but Neuron even moreso. wh...

Re: Moog new "Little Secret"
clearly it's a no-brainer if you already have an iPad i don't - and i still don't want one i just don't see how it can transcend from being merely a toy -> instrument given the zero tactile-feedback of a touchscreen. if it was a percussion instrument that'd be one thing <sans broken glass>... but a ...
