Re: Favorite Drum Machine Beat/Pattern

^^^Mama beat is classic!^^^ Kerri Chandler's Raw Grooves EP on a large system is kick-drum heaven. Nobody does kicks that deep even today. Blue Monday is an obvious one for me. It pointed the way forward at the time for dance music. +1 mantronix +1 DJ Shadow, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhWy...

Re: Juno 106 vs Jupiter 4 vs Jupiter 6

106 is the best choice of all three. Just don't think about those one osc limitation and chip problems, sound that does make 106----is simply flawless. U can get out of this almost every analog sound u want ,and make it really fast, and u want need any outboard effects, sound pretty amazing by itsel...

Re: Monosynths : variety or complexity ?

Or I could also sell everything I have a get a Modcan modular. :) But that's a long-term solution that could be suicidal. keep your favorite keyboard mono and a poly for composing quick lines, sell the rest and get Modcan. Ignore your hesitation and dive in! I took the Modcan Plunge a few months ag...

Re: Top Three Must-Have Anologs

2600 or VCS3 - i have a 2600 and it's great, but for the money they go for now, well, unless you are so dead-set on it for some reason then I say move on - today you could build a 5U or Eurorack modular with a h**l of a lot more than 3 osc and 1 filter and two (kinda boring) EGs for $5K.... I'd whol...

Re: Mangler vs H3000DSE/Eclipse

dunno how good the Mangler's reverb is, but I have a Rumour which uses the same hardware but different coding. The Rumour's a lot more natural-sounding than the verb in my h3000 d/se. the verbs in the mid-period eventide are very 'FX'-ish and not at all like a TC or Lexicon - which is more where the...

not a whole synth but a quantizer module

thrown not away, but directly at the wall
it deserved it; damned ASys and their "no protection-diode" module-design bull$hit

Re: New Step Sequencer from Analogue Solutions

yeah i saw that about a month ago on Matrixsynth it's seeming to be the same as an Oberkorn3, but with only 8-steps per row, no LEDs and no MIDI love the handle/case-factor...not so wild about the legending/graphics the Oberkorn is a great great sequencer, though....."b0, b1, b2" = fun fun fun and C...

Re: Modular synth questions.

Were would I start? http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13 without knowing WHAT you want it for, that is not an easy answer there's many ways to approach it. do you want your modular to be a: 1. wild synth-noise machine from h**l. many younger enthusiasts just want to make a big racket...

Re: Triadex muse

well, it is primitive logic paths. i would set up scales on a quantizer and feed some clocks to logic circuits for note-switching. most any modular w/ a sequencer and simple voice-path can emulate it readily w/ onthefly manual adjustment. It would be more complex to patch everything under CV control...

Re: New guy here! A couple questions I have...

I would love to create psychedelic kind of music. But not the kind you would think. I would like to create sounds that would alter the minds in ways that people have not heard before. being that you're 18 yrs old, you have a LOT more listening to do - you've only heard what an 18-year old has up ti...
