Re: Lead Synth on A-Ha's Take on Me?
Just like in "Wouldn't It Be Good" by Nik Kershaw, the main lead theme is DX-7 doubled with PPG Wave.

Re: Oberheim OB-X or OB-8??
Not in that thread, but the almighty guru stated that "Jump (for my love)" was made with the OB-8/DSX/DMX combo...the ultimate pre-MIDI setup!

On "Hunting High And Low" there might be some Juno sounds...gcoudert wrote:Did A-Ha use a Juno-60 in their early days or did I imagine it?
The great track "The sun always shines on T.V" is mostly made with DX-7 and PPG Wave I think, can somebody comfirm this?

Re: What 80s songs can the DX7 Tubular Bells be heard on?
Yeah, there's lots of very moody and interesting synth work to be heard on the ELM STREET score. Btw, I just learned from a brief converstaion with Charles what synths/equipment he used in the making of the score. Any guesses about what he used besides the DX-7? :D Micke JP-8/MKS-80? No, but he did...

Re: Oberheim OB-X or OB-8??
The one EVH used in Jump is the best. Yeah, Pointer Sisters really nailed the obie sound in that classic. I'm pretty sure they recorded it with an obxa, and then toured with an obx. That classic? I think Stab Frenzy refers to Eddie Van Halen playing the OB-Xa in Jump ;) The synth in "Jump (For my l...

I really like this score and highly recommend it to those of you who are into spooky instrumental electronic music. Agreed! It really is a creepy sounding score but...

That sound is not DX-7, it's PPG Wave or SynclavierPro5 wrote:Oh just remembered:
