Re: Price of a dead Juno 60?
Whatever it's worth, it sounds like a definite parts machine to me...

I hope not. Tempting, but I'm done buying synth keyboards for a while.

Re: Isley synth Arpeggio
Dunno. We've talked about the bassline here on VSE here before and it's probably a Minimoog.
The arps though, it's hard for me to say because it could be anything really.

The Juno 60 is nice, but not worth the prices they go for now. I'd say the JX.

Re: what are some good affordable rack mounts?
If you look around, you can get a TX802 for $150 - $200.
But you can also get a DX7 cheaply if you really shop around. Remember, they built a TON of them back in the day.
That was my philosophy with the D-50 and I scored one for cheap eventually.

Connect the midi out of your MPK into the midi in of your module.
From there I'm pretty sure you can configure your MPK as a midi interface for DAW use. How? Not sure. Check the manual.

Re: Reliability of synthesizers
Some honorable mentions: 1) Build quality: Siel DK-600. This is a machine I bought freshly serviced, and they did a good job, but I ended up having to service it myself again. The ribbon cables are the biggest culprit. Juno-106: Yeah everyone knows about this one. Happened to mine too. JP-8000: It h...

Yeah, it happens on all the patches... I'll take a look inside when I replace the battery.

Weird D-50 key?
Not sure what's going on here, but there's a sharp key on my D-50 (on the top octave) that basically makes that particular octave monophonic when you hold it down. So, in other words, I can't play chords with that key depressed. Weird. The white key next to it does the same thing. Any ideas? I'm gon...

Re: Enya's "On Your Shore" -PPG Wave or D-50?
Flawless vocal production. I think it's a random soft pad on the D-50. Don't mean to necrobump this thread, but yeah, now that I have a D-50 I'm pretty convinced that's what was used here. I had a Juno-106 as a teenager, so I'm pretty familiar with that sound. But I would turn to the D-50 first. In...

Re: Korg Mono/Poly vs Crumar Spirit?
My unsolicited opinion is that unless the Spirit is going for as much as the Korg, go with the cheaper Mono/Poly. If I were to drop 3 grand on a vintage mono, it would be a Mini D.
