Re: Midibox MB-808 Last Orders?
I think I'm just burnt out on poring over long lists of quasi-standardized, letter-number combination codes. ;) I know the feeling. Midibox tends to use standard new parts, and there's good documentation and forum support. Sourcing the old operational transconductance amplifiers and whatever stuff ...

Re: ARP 2600 jacks.
Are the later model jacks all the same? Is it Switchcraft 42A?
EDIT: Yes, all panel mount 42A's on ARP's built after October 1974. They're about $2.50 a pop on mouser.

mouser + redco = roll your own?
These people also sell very high quality cables for cheap at times:

RF noise is neglegable on CV cables so cheap is okay, but it's nice to get the kind you can resolder if they break.

Re: monomachine question
Probably best to contact Elektron. They've got a tech in Georgia, that may be able to work on it, but it will probably have to go back to Sweden. They're great with this stuff and should get back to you within a few days. My MNM never distorts FWIW.

Re: a good patchbay
Actually, I think Berhinger makes a decent patchbay, but the design with the patch mode switches on top of the rack isn't brillant. I'm using two of the new Neutrik bays and they work fine, but I've also used Tascam and Furman. It's a really basic device, so they're isn't a whole lot of difference b...

Re: ARP Solus sliders/faders?
^^ Scam maybe isn't the right word. I'm not saying this was intentional or the seller is a scammer, but there's something that wasn't mentioned in the auction. All of the used sliders I see for on ebay have at least one of the metal tines at the ends broken off. Check the picture in the auction. I'm...

Re: Headphone advice for playing synths and more...
I always go easy on the landlord, but I had 1100 watts monitoring left over from my DJ days, and I never got a noise complaint until I got the A7's. Beyerdynamic DT-770's are nice. They're not loud as h**l, but they give a nice clear, wide dimension to mix in. Most hi-fi shops should have a pair aro...

Re: Upgrading the Z80 in a Prophet 600
I suspect your right, the OS might not handle it, but try calling Wine Country. I sold my P600, because of the lousy processing speed. An awesome synth with real time control totally dragged down by ancient digital processing, it's a shame really. Dirty pots and contacts can drag the processor down ...

Re: RE-201 reverb help!
There's an intensity trimmer on the inside that you can set for longer delays. Self oscillation with the front panel intensity pot around 7 or 8 is a good setting. Check the connections inside the reverb tank, that's a common failure in 2600's. I posted some things about space echo maintenance a whi...
