Re: My Terminator theme remix, Youtube link
Well he lost that bet. I think you chose good sounds for the track too. The build up in the beginning was especially cool.

Re: What Vintage Synth Would You Like to See Back in Production?
However I would like for Roland to finally bring out the 1986 model Auroland X-2000, a mythical beast that never saw a proper release. It was only observed a few times in its prototype form in the skies over Japan, and said to have produced a low frequency hum from its outputs.

Re: What Vintage Synth Would You Like to See Back in Production?
Yamaha DX7. There are some cool modern alternatives but it still has its own unique charm and is such a gorgeous instrument. agreed Unless they make a totally new interface for it with a lot of knobs and controllers, why would you want them to re-release the DX7? Arent there like 250 000 of them ar...

Not a bad price I think.
If you paid with bank transfer it can take a day or two depending on your bank. Give him a few more days, or contact him about it.

Less storage expenses means more pretzels in the company lunchroom.Syn303 wrote:Beats me how elektron never allowed for a CF card slot in their UW's for mass sample storage and recall?

Re: So... What's up at Elektron?
Their prices aren't bad. They are a tiny company making niche products in short runs for a really small market. There is no way to get the pricing down any lower. I think we are going to see prices go back up to where they should be, not as high as when a Jupiter 8 costs $4995 or a new Prophet 5 wa...

Re: About the JD-990, patches and polyphony...
I got the JV-1080 in the mail yesterday. Actually the patches in the updated set has the exact same names as the JD specific ones, so I hope they are the real deal. I was wrong here, the updated set has the same names as the JV-1080 patches on the vintage expansion board. HOWEVER they are an incredi...

Can the JV-2080 preset patches be used in the 1080? Aren't they cross compatible?

Roland D-50 of course! Then I could play "Sail away" to get inspired.*

Re: What was the worst synthesizer you've ever owned?
I am a huge Amiga music fan - I have all of the ST-01 samples in .wav format as part of my research into it's origins. I have produced a lot of remixes of the better known Amiga classic's for AmigaRemix over the years too: http://www.last.fm/music/D.A.Wilson/D.A.Wilson+-+Amiga+Remixes Send me a PM ...

Re: What was the worst synthesizer you've ever owned?
Hey... never a more true word said - I ditched my M1 a few years ago having scraped through it's superficial layer but I still have my beloved D-550, TG77 and SY77 for this very reason. I do have to admit I finally replaced my M1 with an M1REX but that was because it was nearly mint and very cheap ...

Re: What was the worst synthesizer you've ever owned?
Roland D-20. Cost WAY too much and sounded WAY too thin... That synth was so bad I'll never buy another Roland. IT was plagued with issues and Roland support at the time was horrible. -Mc It's factory patches are useless, but you can get excellent results if you have a little patience. If the exper...

Don't know if this has been posted before but this guy really does some excellent work with the JV-1080, without expansions. You should check out all his videos.
