Thanks braincandy, I guess I will find it out how it sounds soon enough anyway.. (-;
I have heard the JD specific expansion patches at synthmania, they are excellent. Actually the patches in the updated set has the exact same names as the JD specific ones, so I hope they are the real deal.

Re: About the JD-990, patches and polyphony...
I have read that the JV-1080 don't work well with the Vintage expansion and that it's patches sound bad, because it was intended for the earlier JV and not the Super JV series. However, I searched around the usergroups and found a zip with 2 sysex banks and a readme file saying this: Roland JV/XP Pa...

About the JD-990 and JV-1080...
I have got hold of the Vintage expansion board in a JV-1080 I just bought (coming soon). But I have been contemplating a long time about buying a JD-990 as I know a guy who will sell me one. I have some questions: 1. The JD-990 can hold 64 user patches. Can I select the patches I want from the expan...

http://mysite.verizon.net/vze6s1hi/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/before.jpg i love the way the other guy is tied up in cables!, because we use so many on keyboard-synths. Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
I once saw someone selling a JX-8P for $700 U.S. and that's just for the synth, not with the PG-8000 or anything fancy. I emailed the seller and told him to die! He didn't take my advice but it still felt pretty good to do that. Another thing I'm tired of is people selling the WAV cd. Sometimes you...

I have always wanted a SY-77. Seems like the ultimate FM board in the hardware realm, and it looks great.

Re: What is a good keytar?
There is a SHS-10 at swedish Ebay right now, current bid at roughly 130$. How anyone in their right mind would fork out that much for that piece of plastic c**p is beyond me. The seller even states that it is "cool on stage" and "very sought after". Still there is 5 days left of the auction. Wouldn'...

Re: Roland D50 patches from the site
Well the date was actually irrelevent as it was a joke, if we'd been having this discussion in 1996 or something I'd have used that year instead. Point being, it's too damn fast for a D-50 to pick up and I doubt the OP is using a 286. Oh and I've used every midi sysex program out there, there's no ...

Re: Roland D50 patches from the site
Search this site or google it, this q is asked at least once a month ;) Hint: Try SLOWING DOWN the transfer.. you may need to use midiox or some other freeware sysex sender where you can set the transfer rate. A D-50 likes to get it's dump @ 1987 speeds not 2009 computer speeds. :) Congrats on the ...

Re: Need help with ESI-32 loop point / crossfade
I have a SCSI card for pc lying around but no drivers or correct cable. #-o Actually, here's an article I wrote: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Dec01/articles/emuesi.asp?session=02a1aa57d8abdce5902380ede0d5b1d7 It's all in there, no need for me to remember :) You wrote that? Re: Need help with ESI-32 loop point / crossfade
Thanks! I will try it out.
I have also tried chickensys translator, and it reads my samples right with loop points and crossfades. And I was even able to convert it to ESi preset format. But how do I get it over to the ESi? Because it won't read DOS formatted disks. MIDI sample dump maybe?

Need help with ESI-32 loop point / crossfade
Ok here's the deal, I have sampled some of my favourite patches from my JX-8P to my pc and made wav files with loop points and crossfade in sound forge 4 (old but good). I read that the ESi can read wav files with sound forge 4x loop point, and it does. But unfortunately it won't read the nice cross...
