http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic. ... 65#p228420
a sales guy i talked to today called it the "jupiter-gaia" and laughed but wouldn't give me any specifics. that is obviously pure speculation.

Re: Worst.. hardware sequencer.. EVER
the M3 has an approx 5 1/2" screen and the Kronos has an 8". if they do include all the Expanded sequencer features the extra screen real estate will be welcome. the fantom-g has an 8.5" screen but its not a touchscreen and the mouse doesn't work (much) on the sequencer screens or the piano roll ed...

Re: Roland Connect - Countdown!
They didn't abandon the varios, they refined the concept and turned it into the vsynth. I have one, it's awesome. it was abandoned if you bought one! What do you mean? Does it no longer do what it did when you bought it? Are Roland in some way responsible? just for the record, i never bought one. b...

Re: Roland Connect - Countdown!
also, the director of marketing for roland should be fired for gross incompetence. the first thing you learn in marketing 101 class is that giant teaser promotions generate wishful thinking which only leads to consumer disappointment upon product release. no matter how awesome your widget is, it wil...

Re: Roland Connect - Countdown!
the problem is that everyone thinks this teaser is for them. us VSE folk, who represent about 0.03% of the market, are sure its a re-issued Jupiter-8. the banjo players are sure Roland has finally made a MIDI banjo. the karaoke crowd is excited because they want a module that will output the lyrics ...

Re: Roland Connect - Countdown!
varios - yet another product roland released and just abandoned. like so many other things, if they had built an SDK and opened it up to developers there would probably be a huge library of useful programs for it.
its hard not be cynical with roland these days

Re: Worst.. hardware sequencer.. EVER
With the release of the Korg Kronos and its apparent devolution from the M3 Expanded sequencer, I thought it might be interesting to see what people thought of the M3 Expanded sequencer or if anyone was actually using it. I didn't even know that Korg had updated the sequencer software with the Expa...

those demo vids are very impressive. that looks to be an awesome sequencer and it sounds like the timing is rock solid.

Re: The rise of the OB Cyclone
$400 is nuts! if the price gets high enough, there is clearly a market that isn't getting met and someone should come along and fill that need. if someone who knew the Cyclone in and out could document it's features and algorithms thoroughly, it should be fairly straightforward to clone it using som...

the story behind the video, Ark Music Factory, is fascinating. Rebecca's parents paid $2k (USD) to have that song and video produced by AMF.
