Re: death of jazz mutant

yeah i think this was inevitable. the ipad competition factor aside, the lemur was hampered by its need to be connected to a computer. if they had included a more powerful processor and utilized a standard scripting language (javascript or python) so that you could build your own custom applications...

Re: Roland Connect - Countdown!

Roland just needs to quit making "2.0" products and actually finish one. They have a long legacy of products where the buggy software was never finished and the product simply abandoned for a new model (SP samplers, MC-909, etc).

Re: I can HEAR the lights on my TR-808 blinking :(

i gotta wonder if you guys have aging power supplies. if the caps are going bad you can start getting some noise from the digital ground bleeding over into the analog ground.

Re: I can HEAR the lights on my TR-808 blinking :(

as nathanscribe said, try just moving the wires around to see if that helps. while you've got it open, check out the midi kit to make sure it was installed per directions and the tech didn't take any shortcuts. pay particular attention to the grounding scheme on the kit - is it grounded precisely wh...

Fantom-G owners will go bonkers if they just make a whole new version. everyone on the RolandClan forums is praying for a 2.0 OS update that fixes all the bugs.

That would require writing completely new OS for it.
thats the plan ;)
the 106 uses multiple CPU's but you may be able to get away with just altering the code in the master CPU, depending on your final goal.

Re: If Korg can make a Monotron that sells for $65...

so what is it with obsession to have one of the "big 3" make another analogue synth? it seems like we just go over it again and again (and I've been guilty of it myself). i have to wonder if a lot of us are "chasing the dragon" and trying to reclaim the "wow" factor of the big analogues from our you...

Re: Roland Connect - Countdown!

its not hidden, dude just click the product links the listed products are from NAMM. the countdown is for MusicMesse. the implication is that Roland is going to introduce something awesome in Frankfurt (why else would they countdown?). obviously, we know that is very unlikely unless you want a Rola...

Re: I got myself a blue present!

i recall the 909 kit on the CS-1x sounded quite good. it was highly compressed and had a slight "plasticky" quality to the sound. those sounds sat in a mix really well and didn't need a lot of work to get 'em sounding right. i remember occasionally saying to myself, "wow these sound better than my r...
