Re: How do you guys work?

Re: How do you guys work?

Genre: melodic/ambient Writing: Often, I'll come up with a melody in my head, then work out the chords and notes on acoustic guitar, so i dont forget. Other times Ill jus start tweaking a patch and jam some arps and melody lines out and come up with something that way. Recording: do all my melody w...

Re: In the process of putting together the gear I need.

Probably.. I bought a mixer when i started out and it's never used. Just sits there and looks good! you want a usb interface, that allows you to record and control your hardware gear with Midi.. however, to get started, get yourself a decent DAW - Logic, Ableton.... and start learing how to build up...

Re: recording hardware synths

i wish i could record my hardware synths like i do my softies.. i wanna use one synth to make a full track and i wanna have timbral control of each part of it, throughout the session start to finish.. Well, this is pretty much the whole reason people ditched their hardware for softsynths in the fir...

Re: recording hardware synths

Thanks lads.. the way i compose with softsynths is, often, create a patch and lay it down (eg an arp).. then ill often duplicate it and change the timbre/modulation/lfos/fx bla bla of the second and rearrange its music/melody then ill more than likely want to start tweaking the first one again.. you...

Re: recording hardware synths

Recording audio is a MANLY stance. Working with endlessly repeatable and reconfigurable software parameters is for GIRLS. haha Im not worrying.. its just often slow and tedius and i get bored.. cheers for reply Maybe making music isn't for you? If you can't deal with easy multitrack recording to ch...

recording hardware synths

this is probably a really basic question that I'm gonna get eaten alive for.. but how do y'all record your hardware synths/external midi devices if , say, you only have 2 or even 1? create a patch, play in the part then quantise the notes.. when you wanna use the same synth again (for a few parts or...

Re: saving on the tenori on

just learned that the s.d card only saves your blocks, layers and songs as data that your tenori can use again or you can use in another tenori - not as audio files.. you have to use the audio out.. bit s**t, that

Re: saving on the tenori on

yeah, I meant a block.. That's great, I'll try that when I get home So, you've never imported or recorded any material from the tenori into another sequencer? I suppose you could use the headphone in which is also a line out, to record it as audio.. what i really want to do is solo 'layers' by copyi...

saving on the tenori on

could anyone tell me how to go about saving my work on the tenori on? I can record a 'song' and save that to the s.d card.. but is it possible to just save loops/creations, without making a recording? also.. when I load a song from the s.d card to my mac, it's a 'unix executable' file.. what does on...
