Re: drum machines w/ individual outs

A lot of people also forget the fact that some digital drum machines (like the 707 for example), have multiple D/A converters. The mixer is an analog mixer and the main out jack is the output of this mixer. This gives a far nicer result than having all the sounds go through one single D/A converter,...

Re: drum machines w/ individual outs

Interesting poll. I tend to just run the main outs while composing. Then, when tracking into Sonar, I just record a few passes with each sound solo'd. That way I don't have to mess around with any cables but get pretty much the same result. Sometimes though, there is such nice interaction between so...

Re: EMX Midi?

It's kind of a pointless question, since I think most if not all DAWs are capable of sending a stable MIDI clock, given the right configuration. But if it's any help, I have been running my ESX (same s**t) on MIDI sync for years with Sonar 7 and Live 7. Getting rock solid timing with both. Live has ...

NOT very much. Many of the suggested interfaces are near double the price here, as are most instruments.
All that oil and still you can't get a proper price for a USB interface!

Thanks :)

I felt so sad when I finally unpatched it. It felt like... like..... killing a living creature... :(

Re: KORG MS-FEST ... MS-fans / links / pics / patches

I like this thread! Keeping it alive! Don't ask me why, but I made a "sheep" patch recently. I really think it sounds quite convincing. Haha, I loved this patch so much that I didn't unpatch it for more than a week. A couple of times I was working on a track, reached for the MS20, but realized "Oh n...

Howard Jones is desperately trying to find ANYTHING good to say about this thing. I couldn't watch that whole vid... it just makes me cringe.

Re: Help me pick a USB audio interface for PC

Yes it's the little dark blue thing, but I honestly have no idea if it runs on win7 64bit; I run XP myself.

Considering that it's an aging product and the company has been bought by Avid, I'm not sure how much driver support it has, if it has any at all...

Well, in that case, if you don't mind some shameless spamming, I just remembered that I have an MBox2 Mini lying around that I'm trying to sell here in Sweden for 700SEK.... if you're interested ;)

Re: Help me pick a USB audio interface for PC

I've been using a MOTU 828 mkII, usb2 version for a while and I'm super happy with it. Tons of analog&digital ins, outs, midi, everything you would want, and soundwise it is a noticable step above those c**p m-audio and edirol things. Got it second hand for €350 three years ago so I'm sure you could...

Here's exactly the same break in action in another (not so dissimilar) track:

Man! The name of that track with the break is on the tip of my tongue! :x
