Re: 90s sounding big beat \break beat drums
Well the drums in that "Busy Child" song by CM is simply a straight-up looped drumbreak from a 70's funk track. Forgot which one.... will try to find it again.

Re: Multitrack recording on tape: anyone still doing it?
There is a factory in the Netherlands manufacturing fresh 1/4" and 1/2" reels of tape. A little pricey, but it's nice to have the option, especially since you live in the area. I mostly agree with the others. You want pro sound using tape? Forget it. Good sound on a reel-to-reel will only be achieve...

Re: Jupiter 6 Oscillators
Oh, ok, well I think you should disregard the numbers next to the slider, they are only representative of the setting level, not the actual pulsewidth amount.
A pulse width slider setting of "0" actually means you should get a 50/50 width (square) pulsewave, not 0 pulsewidth.

Re: Jupiter 6 Oscillators
I just checked my (non Europa) JP-6, and the pulsewidth trick works fine. No oscillator sound at all. I guess you're dealing with a calibration issue. There should be some variable resistors on the voiceboards for adjusting how far PW goes. But don't mess around with it unless you know what you are ...

Re: The MS-20 can do acid too you know!
Great stuff! Great track! You are not helping me curb my appetite for an MS-20!! I've been coveting one for some time now so I can swap out my CS-10 for one. Dooo it! The CS10 is such a tame sweet little girl compared to the MS-20. You won't miss it. Well, unless you're really into tame sweet littl...

Re: The MS-20 can do acid too you know!
Hehe thanks fellas!
I honestly had no idea if this was good stuff or total s**t. That's why I tossed it to the lions obviously
I'm quite a rookie though when it comes to uploading to youtube. It seems I did something wrong because it really sounds like there's a bitcrusher on the sound

The MS-20 can do acid too you know!
MPC1000 drums and drives Midi clock into 707 > triggers SH-101 sequencer+bassline > MS-20 osc+trig inputs (not tracking perfectly of course) for the acid thing. Recorded live to 2tr.

Re: I can HEAR the lights on my TR-808 blinking :(
Ok! I'm glad you found a solution that you can work with. Who is your technician btw? I will be moving back to Belgium this summer (I move back and forth between Belgium/Netherlands and Sweden regularly), and am looking to make a few repairs to some of my analogs then, so I'm shopping around for goo...

Re: I can HEAR the lights on my TR-808 blinking :(
You should talk to Leo Kozz in Ghent.... I'll PM you his email.DenBaitos wrote:Anyone know a technician in the Belgium/Holland area who could fix my 808? PM me, please.
Also, I have a contact with a solid guy in Amersfoort, NL, but I will have to dig that up.
Good luck!

Re: Pro-One envelope mod... messed up!
Ok, thanks for the info. I think maybe it would be simpler for me to just wire the switch back in. I'm going to study that diagram thoroughly - it's still a bit hard for me to decipher. I'm not in a rush to fix it, so I'll just try to get some soldering experience points until I'm ready to go throug...

Ssh! Let's not mention the SX-400 too much
-Edit: I'm quite certain that the person who wrote about it on the VSE page has never tried one. It is the furthest thing from a Juno-6 I can possibly imagine.

Re: Pro-One envelope mod... messed up!
Hey Solderman, thanks for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately my electronics and soldering skills are not up to scratch. I recently bought a soldering iron for practice, but I'm not ready to tackle my Pro-One's circuit board just yet. Here is a picture of the mod on the board (missing the switch...

Re: K station power adapter
Don't use the KORG power supply with your K-Station!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KORG's 9v power supplies are 99% of the time "negative inside / positive outside". The K-Station uses the opposite polarity, "positive inside / negative outside" If you plug in the wrong polarity you will very likely cause d...
