Oberheim excasy
I plugged in an Oberheim SEM that I borowed and: My head is spinning, my heartbeat-rate dubbled and my hands are all sweaty. Now its played the same short Pro-One sequence for 30 minutes and I just cant make myself turn it of, its heavenly. The filter doing soft BP. It has very deep end, light nasal...

Cheetah MS-6. Sounds like matrix-1000 but is multitimbral and you can edit it from the front.

I have one of those to, for my effects. Cheap & excellent. OH I'M ON TO YOU the EINA is literally a perfect fit for 19" rack gear. you can either bolt some rack rails to it, or screw right into the sides. even includes a shelf for your gear without rack ears: http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/71559_PE18...

What a setup
The nicest Ive ever seen. Can it be, any nicer. In a Chandler voice.
Ill have to put on my only Steve Hillage album, thats not System 7, and dream.

Re: If you had $1,000.00-$1,200.00
I think timeing is the main thing about bying synths. Depending on what Id alredy have: Arp Odyssey, if I was looking for a monosynth. Berhaps a micromoog/polysix(or Juno60) if I needed a combo. Or a Pro-One and a CS-50... A Jupiter-6 if I was looking for a poly. Want - to - spend - money - aargh.

Re: Oberheim Xpander: Potential Problems?
Mine had problem with the powersupply, but a friend fixed it very cheap. Sometimes Ive to redo the autotune to get all passed. But all in all its reliable. Ive been thinking about spare parts for all af my synths(past and present) at one time or another but you dont know if and whats going to break...

Re: If you had to
It had to be the Jupiter-8 & Minimoog.
Perhaps it would be smarter to keep the Xpander over the Mini.
But then Id propably lay sleepless thinking about big knobbs.

A Mini isnt unreliable.
The stock market is, computers are, but not a Mini.

Re: Spend my inheritance (well... some of it...)
I'm with Stab & Esus on this. A Minimoog is realy the most welbuilt, nice thing. Its easy to objectify and they age good. The sounds are like emotional poetry, Ill soon begin to weep... :) The prophet 08 sounds great, but to me it wont make stop desiering other polysynths, and perhaps youll miss the...

Re: CS-30 vs. MS-20
Ive not played the CS-30, only the CS-15, but a lot of MS-20. Their limitations are very diferent. Aswell as their basic sound. Ill think youll find them diferent enough for having both. I would. If you have the economy get the MS-20, buy it and then deside after a couple of months if any of them ha...

Re: Doepfer A-100 VS Roland System 100
It depends on where you are. Ive seen a couple of system 100s for sale here in sweden during the last years. I tried ona at a store (jamshop.se) and it definitly sounded good, "fat and vintage". Its a good idea to register at bluesynths.com and read reviews and listen to soundfiles. You'll notice th...
