Okay, okay. I'm just sayin'... it isn't immediately obvious on the front page that questions that may have been answered elsewhere on the forum, or even on the front page, will not be entertained in the forum. If questions that have already been asked were prevented, there would be very few new thre...

From the front page of VSE: The Vintage Synth Explorer has been up and running on the internet for over 10 years now. While it has been our pleasure to bring you all the information, quality photos and tons of sound demos, we will no longer be actively updating the pages within this site. Oh, come ...

JUGEL wrote:my mystery synth is the Strider Systems DCS II. Can't find anything about that one.. Marc.. you ever heard of it?
Yes, but only in the blurb in Vail's Vintage Synthesizers.
I've never seen one on eBay or seen anyone say they have one.

Well, it's not surprising... the MX3000 is exceedingly rare.
Those of us who have always wanted one (which I think I am the sum total) would love to see hi res pictures and sound or video demonstrations. :)

GAS vanishes when you find the devices that perfectly suit your purposes. Of course, some people have more purposes than others. I used to want to have a museum of synths because each synth had some desireable quality and unique quirk. However, eventually, I found that some synths have a lot more de...

I'd like to change my answer to calliope. [-X Lord knows we need another steam-powered instrument to further saturate the market. Look, Wilson... I don't know why you and people like you don't recognize that steam-powered synthesis is FAR SUPERIOR to electric synthesis. You and your calliople-emula...

You would need software that could mimic the unique dual-synth/duophonic/dual high and low pass filters, etc. The functionality and arrangement of the Maxikorg is unique enough that I think only modular-emulation software is going to be able to simulate the functionality. No software is really going...

Thanks for making the demo, Heath! You're a great benefit to the forum! Usually the collectors like the Moog filter one the most from what I've seen. What I would do is have a MK1 oddy, for the ARP sound, and get a minimoog for the moog sound. Why would I want my ARP to sound like a moog? I haven't ...

This reminds me of when I bought the MS-10. The ad said Korg MS-20. But when I looked at the provided pictures, the nameplate said MS-10. So I informed the seller, and he said he didn't know anything about synths, he'd just found it on the attic after cleaning out after his dead grandfather. At lea...

If only Korg had put two oscillators on that thing... man, it would have been absolutely stunning. Not to say that it wasn't stunning with one... just that it would have been stellar with two.
Of course, they're hard enough to find, and expensive as h**l with one osc...

Ok Automatic Gainsay, youre right. I need to fix my Dynacord VRS-23 or get another nice reverb. But evertime I visit my friends CS-80 I get stuck, at least its a difference in appeal. And I also find Hfinns demos very musical, I listen to them alot. Ha ha, don't get me wrong... I salivate at the th...

Awww, come on... in many cases during the recording the CS-50 would sound very similar with reverb and delay!

I saw it the same way. I thought, "Man, that's one HUGE Juno". As for the New Order/Cure discussion, I'll say that "Blue Monday" beats "The Walk". But overall, I find myself listening to The Cure a helluva lot more than New Order. Hey, thanks for taking a look. I was wondering if anyone knew what I...
