People are confusing themselves further by talking about how the control signals are generated, this is actually irrelevant as to whether an oscillator is analogue or digital. All polysynths (and some monos eg. Pro-One) generate CVs for the VCOs and VCFs from a digital keyboard scanning system. (Pe...

Memo, your entire description from top to bottom is consistent with everything I've ever heard about the differences between VCOs and DCOs. I like your use of the abbreviation "DGO." I've never heard that, but frequently rant (as I'm sure you've seen at some point) about how DCOs and "DGOs" are ofte...

As for analog square waves being trapezoidal... my oscilloscope must be crazy, then. ; ) You just need a faster oscilloscope. Think of the vertical axis of a waveform as being the location of the speaker cone producing the wave. A square wave asks the speaker to move between two points, all the way...

I read on another forum that it's entirely analog except for, "the linear voltage to exponential current converter (the most $$$ and tricky part of a VCO) with a DAC that supplies a charging current to the cap*." So that sounds pretty analog to me. Then again, there are idiots who think that the An...

Lambda: VCA/ENV per key, three layers of divide-down oscillator/dividers. That is a great sound. That makes it a three oscillator synth with full articulation and full polyphony. There aren't many string synths with that sort of power. Sadly, no filter to speak of except the slight filter effect wit...

This is interesting, as it is the more rare earlier version with the 4027 oscillator and the earlier ARP logo. I know there was a run of this colour of 2600's which had the b...

Re: Multiple Trigger Mode
With one filter each time you strike a new note while holding down another note the envelope does not re-trigger. So new notes don't get that percussive attack. If the patch has a slow attack new note wont fade in but jump in. After watching AutomaticGainsay's video again. I believe I noticed that ...

I don't quite get the original question.. the MP has 4 oscialltors that can each be assigned a note in poly mode.. how is that not true polyphony, regardless of where the osc's are routed filter/eg wise? Ever since voltage controlled synths arrived on the scene, keyboard players have been demanding...

Isn't there only one filter in the ARP Omni, Solina, Korg Trident and (one per section of the) Moog Opus 3? Those synths get buy with only one filter. Not exactly the same, but it is a bit similar to whatever's inside of the Mono/Poly. The Arp/Eminent Solina (SE-IV) has no filter. The Solina String...

The PolySix is better for evolving string and pad sounds. However in most other regards it's much less versatile than a Mono/Poly. The PolySix is a fantastic synth though, and the Mono/Poly looks awesome too! Yes, totally! I don't mean to imply that the MonoPoly is going to be better at being a pol...

All I can say is that I bought the MG-1 replacement sliders and caps from him, and they were delivered quickly, exactly as described, and work fantastically. He even threw in a little LED flashlight. It is one of the one transactions I have engaged in with someone in Japan or Korea or where ever he ...
