I like it! Looks like a nice compositional tool. Interesting how we are seeing more of these all of a sudden. Novation Akai, Monome, Ohm....

Re: A self-circuit bending Ensoniq ESQ-1?
...Don't fix what's not broken.... If you are liking what it offers you, then why change it only for the sake of having a perfect working one. It depends if you really want it to be locked in key. If not, no need to fix it. I think sometimes, synths that misbehave can be kind of cool to use, kind of...

Re: First Synth for an Industrial Musician
When I first bought the Evolver years ago, I thought and couldn't believe how easy it sounded like a twisted industrial synth right out of the box, twisted mainly because of all the modulations you can do that others can't. Other synths don't sound industrial out of the box, but the presets were all...

Re: does anyone else feel this way about the DSI MEK
The MEK is firstly not an analog synth. It's a Hybrid. So to compare to a Pro-1 or other analog is not right for the other analog synth or the MEK. Both will have different obvious strengths over the other. I think the analog Osc in the Evolver is somewhat plain sounding sometimes, other times it se...

Re: Would it be possible to mod the RS7000?
That's funny you mention the internal sounds. I got to using it's internal sounds quite a lot when I had it. I think the RS has a lot of useable sounds already, but it has decent depth for a rompler for synth editing. For some reason I enjoyed editing the sounds on it. I was never keen on using it a...

He should be a salesman at keyboard shop. He could probably sell you ketchup popsicle by showing the advantages of it in popsicle form.
But his talent already has landed him somewhere, so no need for a salesman.

No batteries. I thought that was one of the cool things about the first version is that you could move around with it.

Jomox Mbase 11
Wondering if anyone has tried one. Thinking of maybe going for it. Wondering if it does everything the Mbase 01 can. Seems like there is more waveforms in the LFO (8 total) and more parameters like compression and metalize with some others I think. Basically wondering if it's the same base sound as ...

Jomox Mbase 01 & Mbase 11
Wondering if the Mbase 11 can do basically everything the 01 can. I know the 11 has extra features, but I'm wondering if the sound is meant to compliment each other. The website says that the Mbase 11 is meant to compliment the 999 and 888 kick sound. But it does not say it's meant to compliment the...

Re: Radikal Technologies Spectralis vs EMU XL7 vs Yamaha RS7000
The Polymorph is the box you want if you want easy. I think the Spectralis from what I've heard sounds deep. So it might be harder to understand what's going on. I would still get it over the other too, just because it would sound better and more groovebox oriented with lots of tweakability. If you ...

Re: Nord Wave VS Andromeda VS Poly Evolver
I think the A6 would be the safe choice, but I wouldn't hesitate going for the PEK (which is what I did). The desktop Evolver can easily be played with a keyboard, so no worries. I think the PEK excels at hybrid (newer psychedelic) retro sounds while the A6 is more suited towards lush and creamy sou...

Re: GAS --- Just bought 2 new pieces... POLYMORPH & SIDSTATION
I've had mine since about 2000 or 2001. I sold it only because I found the black Klaus Schultz edition with Moog style knobs. Love the Polymorph. Nothing sounds like it. And it's one rewarding box like Cap says. I almost bought a Spectralis because of this box, but heard it takes a while to wrap you...

Re: mono or poly evolver?
I bought a desktop when they came out. I liked it for making quick and incredibly tweakable and evolving sequences. But I found out when I bought the MEK that I need this in keyboard format. Then I had to buy the PEK becuase I felt that the sound of the MEK would be so much cooler in a PEK. I love p...

Re: 3rd Oscillators - What's Your Favorite Use?
4 OSCs on the Spectralis's hybrid synth part too. Besides having all the other parts, the hybrid is 4 digital oscs with DCAF, good for convincing the neighbors that aliens are comming to mutilate their dogs in middle of the night. It sounds like this: http://www.quantum-source.com/Sounds/mp3s/Sp2FM...
