Re: Future Retro XS
Made an all Future Retro XS song for Halloween. Multitracked using only one XS patch for the whole song, besides a little tweaking towards the end. Recorded plain and with effects (H3000). Everything burbling, belching and growling is the XS. Watch those creeky boards! http://www.soundclick.com/band...

Re: Rozzbox V.2 Discontinued
I could see that. Looks like a fun experimental box. Love the tube filter from what I've heard. The old version of the Rozzbox was really cool too. I heard a lot of sound clips on the website when it was still version 1. Seems like the new one added lots of fun extra features, plus a nice little lcd...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread
Thanks for posting that. What a great sounding synth. Just from listening makes me want to buy one. To be fair, I think if I owned a original SEM I would hear some sort of difference and be extra picky too. The SEM has been loved, as some say, as the most organic sounding analog. And it does indeed ...

Re: Yamaha - enemies of synthsis!
The Tenori On was an excellent idea and shows that they are still thinking creatively in the synth market. Yamaha can still be innovative when they want to be and show that they can be. I think it's just a slower process. Guess the RS7000 didn't take like they wanted, but I thought if they would've ...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread
Such nonsense. Some people are behaving here as if noting that difference would be an insult aimed directly at Tom Oberheim. I like your analytical thinking. Seriously. And I think there is some truth to your last sentence (everyone wants Tom and his sales to do good). But I don't think that's nons...

Re: Jupiter-4 vs Roland Sh-2 & Jx3p vs Juno2
How do the liquidy filters and snappy envs compare on the JP4 and SH2?

I had 3 Polymorphs at one time. I didn't use them all at the same time, but nonetheless.

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread
Being nit-picky about the differences is silly, when in the first place, old vintage SEMs didn't even match up or sound the same. So if the old ones never sounded identical, can a new and old one sound identical. Silly (but entertaining nonetheless). The new SEM sounds the same to me, unless I were ...

Re: Taking the SE1X plunge!
If they made a keyboard version of the ATC, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. That would be sweet, like a Moog Source on steroids. I got a blue ATC-X and I love it. I was thinking about sending it in for an Xi upgrade, though I'm wonder if I really NEED it, its great as it is. Is the sine wave and other e...

Anyone here use an Orb or Nemo?
I want a Nemo, but I'm thinking I'm going to get an Orb for now. (If you have either for sale contact me) Anyone care to comment on these two sequencers. I think they will fit perfectly within my setup. The Nemo is a bit pricey, but exactly what I want. The Orb I think would be fun inspirator for qu...

Re: The New Tom Oberheim SEM Thread
Not matter what, it has that sweet tone. Sounds pretty close if not identical. I think I do hear a slight difference, but maybe not (could be my memory, haven't played an original or heard one for a while among other factors). It sounds basically like an original SEM. It sounds freaking sweet and I ...

Re: Tom Oberheim to show new synth on Wednesday?
Soundwise, it is a SEM. Not just SEM-like. It's a SEM. And I say that after having set-up identical patches on my original SEM and the new one.   :o ....... =P~ =P~ =P~ =P~ =P~ Oh $#@!, didn't expect it to sound the same... I'm going to be seriously needing one of these. This ...

Re: Taking the SE1X plunge!
That's what I'm thinking too. Though I've already gotten so used to the ATC-Xi interface, but knobs would be nice to have on the key version. For a new one, I would've gone for the orange too then =P~b3groover wrote:

Re: Taking the SE1X plunge!
The orange is a keeper, Like it! One aesthetic improvement in the Xi knob is a Moog Source type knob and feels really good.

So the Electribes have dual uses. More than than a drum machine.
