Jupiter 6 Questions....

Im thinking about tracking down a Jupiter 6 - it sounds like everything I want in an analogue polysynth apart from it lacks velocity, and to a lesser extent - aftertouch... Would it be possible to Mod a J6 with a modern keybed with velocity and aftertouch? If it had the europa update? Or would it be...

Can anyone tell me if the Little Phatty offers legato portamento? Or is it only normal glide?

depends what editor you are using but I would just 'send' to the OB and save it within the memory - you can replace the first 200 patches I think

Anyone have any ideas whats going on with the Blofeld production? Seems like Thomann have taken it off their site. Seems rather worrying-I was hoping this was going to be a huge success for Waldorf and after a big FM review-its unavailable-surely this isnt a great business situation...?

thats true - everyone prob has a different idea of 'warm' or 'phat'. Still - there could be a middle ground. Its like, if there is so much risk of subjective views, theres no point in bothering describing anything. I dont think that should be the case. I think if someone who really knows the score c...

The problem with reviews like this is that they often dont take into account the comparitive market - IE what else is out there as an alternative - and the strengths and weaknesses of the sound and where it might be used. An example of this is the posts above - saying the P08 excells in brassy and m...

these virtual analogues, tho nice instruments in themselves dont really do the vintage thing properly. take it from a massive 80s head, if you want those sounds, get the gear they had -basically vintage, or the modern equiv (basically a new analogue synth) the new stuff just dont cut it. just my op...

I didnt see what all the fuss was about either. I sold mine. Thought it sounded a bit plain. Mine wasnt in the best condition which didnt help the overall fell of cheap quality. I thought the Mod section was cool tho-but couldnt justify the whole synth for just that...
