There's a "Robot Voice" feature on the VP-9000 that removes the pitch information from a sample and that sample can then be replayed at any pitch. It's sort of like a combination of autotune and a vocoder. Yeah I rekon they used the VP9000 on 'Something about us' because of the sound of the chord v...

Also the main vocals in "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger" sound way too robotic to be the unprocessed human voice and autotune. http://youtube.com/watch?v=9XpyZl1Av5g seeing the guy that performs that piece of music and his topless nude egotrip made me lough   Digital Love cover: http://...

I'll just reiterate what's already been said here: --- Don't base your opinion of the XS on my demo clips. I'm a complete newb when it comes to synth programming, (and recording). And, have I scratched the surface of it's raison d' etre: semi-modularity . Not tmention putting the XS sound into a mu...

i read somewhere that for Intergalactic they used MAM VF-11 vocoder. not sure though... that was the Beastie Boys... DP also use one of those Roland Variphrase samplers for their vocal effects.....And Im surprised no ones mentioned the Talkbox yet-which is how they did 'around the world' and Harder...

I think you guys might be right-the Braxe tracks may be real bass-and dont actually fall under the 'french touch' moniker. I mistakenly connected two different french sounds..... Voyager is an example fo the old 'french touch' sound. I have now found out that the Voyager bass was done with an MS20.....

"French Touch Bass"-examples included

Not sure if this is the right place but Im asking: Anyone of you electronic maestros know how to get the classic "French Touch" bassline as used in tracks such as Daft Punk - Voyager or these posted below (obtained from blogs) http://www.omnikrom.net/pagette/Intro-Original_Mix.mp3 http://havefunclub...

ok guys, just got a way to go for a XS and went for it...the moog LP is really sweet but the XS offers more possibilities...namely by adding more foogers and other modules (.com/modcan/MOTM)... It's going to be my only mono so I prefer it to be flexible. but thanks for your opinions! yes-shaggies l...

Ive been considering a very similar conundrum! However I had an SE1x and exchanged it for an ATC1. I liked the ATC more as it had faster envelopes, faster LFOs and despite the SE1 having more knobs-you still needed to be inside the menues most of the time which I found a pain-the ATC has it all laid...
