cool sounds dude..... I think you should try recording with a metronome..and did you quantise the drums? The timing is all over the place...but I enjoy listening to your Jx3p sounds-you nail the Axel F patches :) Try laying down a drum track-then recording each subesquent Jx3p audio track to your mi...

I had a JX-3P and did not like it. If you get one make sure you can get a programmer with it otherwise you may get sick of it quick. I agree the sequencer was definately a selling feature, but I was just not attracted to the sounds. Having never played a Jupiter-anything, I can't vouch for the cont...

I just got off the phone to SE & one of the Regis brothers and apparently you can do the snappification mod for the ATC-1 (don't know about the X model, he just said the mod could be done for my ATC) Also I mentioned about the release tails having that bitr-ness when they get very low in amplitude ...

Erm, the pound has always been £. € is the Euro. The Euro symbol should be changed. It's too close to the pound imo. Good point-lets just change it....only need to re-call the entire european currency... Anyone got Gordon's number? ;) Looks like the industry is see-sawing. Ten years ago computers o...

....If I were you-I would look to get more than one synth to cover your needs. Its quite funky house music you are into so I wouldnt go with a Virus-too dark. A Nord Lead 2 might be good for your pads/chords and FX. Then you could get a nice analogue mono for your funky bass lines....maybe a Roland ...

Personally I can't see much point in having a hardware VA with a limited interface, you may as well use a plugin. Good point. But to me, the best VA still sound better than the majority of the plugins-although the margin of that is decreasing....Separate DSP from the host computer can allow for mor...

Cheers for the demos dude-Im seriously considering one of these when I get the money.....

Although I dont think the Keyboard magazine reviews are worth much IMHO-much as Future Music-more like glorified adverts. Like Cosmo for Music or something....;)

I think a mid priced poly analogue would be nice-to make analogue more in the grasp of the lower end of the market. Something a la Prophet 600/Matrix 6. That would take on VAs a bit more and increase visibility of analogue synths-which seem to be know as the preserve for the rich-when that isnt real...

1) it has a shameful small amount of on-board memory, about 15 layouts if i remember. seriously, memory is so cheap. Cant you save your layouts in your computer? If I remember correctly my friend saved his layouts on his hard drive. Im pretty sure my SL25 has about 50 slots of memory (you can write...

I had one-and to be honest with you-I feel the MicroKorg and Micron have better quality synth engines (I also had a Micron and MS2000). I did like quite a few of the presets-they were well programmed-but the SFX seemed to play a big role in bringing out the sounds-and the presets were smothered in t...

I have an SL 25. It does have a nice semi-weighted feel, and good aftertouch sensitivity. Automap is 'quite' useful-depending on the context. I never use it to control Logic, but it can be good if you use a lot of softsynths-as you can use a wrapper which automatically maps the softsynth controls. P...
