The Nord sound- opinions?

I’ve been tinkering a lot with my newish G1 modular but I’m still undecided whether I like the sound or not. I think Clavia have been clever to try and rid the sound of any digital side effects which gives a very rich smooth tone especially in the lower mid/bass area but I can’t feel its lacking a l...

Was that when he visited the ole Jarre.net forum years back regarding his comments on Aero? (Jarre geek alert everyone! )
I remember him saying about the Oxygene 4 lead being an ARP too.

I'm sure many people will disagree with everything I just wrote. - CM If you compare the Pulse to say something like an Sh101 then it can sound a little cold but I found if you add positive keytracking to the VCO levels in the higher octaves to educe filter distortion in the top notes and a little ...

I've payed on a 4voice a few times and the VCO's sound different kinda more nasally if that makes any sense?
I reckon the 2600 JMJ used was the Moog ladder one don't ask me why its just an SEM has a more upfront sound but then again with a little eq...

You can get a vintage tone from many modern analogues and I can manipulate stuff whilst playing on my Monomachine and KP3 much faster than any kid dragging a mouse.

Waldorf Pulse is a bargain for what it is just don't expect it to sound very 'vintage' as such even tho the filter is based on a more stable Moog 24db LPF. The DS Evolver would be my other choice for more exotic stuff tho the Pulse has more weight to the sound due to its overdrivable filter stage. T...

Custom chips so when it goes it goes or you'll have to hunt high and low or pay top whack for parts from a duffer. I think the Arturia version is a safer bet myself but it's still a beauty with real analogue filters. This may also be the reason why prices have come down recently so bear that in mind...

Nothing radically new on paper but that UI really deserves some attention even before we've heard any sound.

Kinda looks like what the Matrix12 could have been. 8)

Re: A discussion on improving synth design.

I think the bubble has popped for software synths that’s why for example Arturia are now going into hardware. A decent softsynth has more features than most users could ever need and there’s also the unfortunate reality of being able to get most VST’s hacked from torrent sites. Sure more people are ...

Well I don't KNOW anything of course, but some people claim it to be an eminent preset, here is a demo of eminent showing it at around 4:08: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVr72UcCvkk on the other hand at Place de la Concorde , Jarre seems to be playing this sound on CS60 if I remember correctly I ...

By the way, what did you mean by "main lead"? I can't remember any lead in Equinoxe4, 5, yes, but 4 is all strungs for the melody as far as I can remember, plus staccato Eminent later.
:sign6: well main melody I guess but if you know its Eminent staccato then it must be. :confused1:

I've asked this in other places (so don't mind if you have already heard this question elsewhere), and just to collect more opinion, I'm going to ask here. What do you think, which synth was used for Equinoxe 4 sequence. Most people think It's ARP2600, and so do I, but something tells me it could b...

Re: GROOVEBOX

I don't want to spend a lot of money (who does?), so like 250-450 US dollars is sounding good to me. The Electribe EMX-1 is just barely in that range, are there any other suggestions? Thanks! http://www.sequencer.de/pix/spectralis/QM_raveolution309_l.jpg You will have to exorcise those dire presets...
