I miss those warehouse days where I couldn't even see the top of the pile of speakers... I don't know if I will ever be able experiance that again... All empire's must fall I suppose. EU regs have really f**k things up over hear. :x I have a mate who worked at the local student club and if the mete...

Re: Basses that make you want to s**t your pants
Seriously Dudes, I had a bass going on my microkorg that was so damn wet that i thought i Shat myself. Anyone else get basses like that or am I the only weird one? s**t shaking sub bass was all part of the fun back in the good 'old school' days of Rave! :tshirt: We had fun as teenagers stacking as ...

The latency effect by chaining may not be too noticeable with synth sounds but very apparent on percussion. My advice is choose a bit of kit with rock solid timing for the main master clock then connect it to a MIDI thru box and slave everything else via the thru box. This is what I use. :) http://w...

Don't get if you want analogue emulation as the filters really don't cut it, the menu layout isn't too intuitive especially with the envelopes, I didn't like the 'log' either, very awkward to use. The MIDI is very comprehensive and physical models are very unique although given the chance again I'd ...

There are no unsual tricks at all, except those "tricks" that are provided by unique design and functionality. That is the point. Having experienced the 2600 first hand, at the very least, I would think you yourself would be able to comment on the extensive functionality in rare combination that th...

I have never done a comparison between software emulations and the real thing, so I cannot comment on how effective they are regarding generating characteristic sound. The reviews I've read haven't been very complimentary in that specific regard. The TimewARP2600 likes to boast hi frequency filter ...

Put simply, modern analog (while powerful and very nice sounding) simply does not sound entirely like vintage analog to those who seek a truly vintage analog sound. I can't speak for "people like me," but I can speak for myself when I say this is not a value judgement. I would enjoy a Voyager or M5...

When my accomplice bought his ARP2600 (once belonged to the Shamen)that had full (I think) MIDI and being the grey model with the Moog copy filter yet no plastic coated boards I couldn't wait to get my grubby paws on it. I know people swear by these things and there are many unique subtle quirks but...

This is an opinion from someone who owned a Speckie and sold it, and has also had some experience with a Polymorph. My primary issue with the Speckie is the convoluted interface, and the deep menu diving you have to do if you are a compulsive sound tweaker. I just didn't find it fun to program, whi...

Good stuff, thanks. I’m just considering the fact that the Specy in its unfinished state is still more powerful that the set up I already use. Is it easy to flick through different patterns and tweak/mute steps on the fly? Are there any serious downsides with the machine in its current state ...
