I’ve had the later Pulse v2.01 (red cutoff knob) and now I have the Pulse+. Apart from the excellent MIDI/CV interface (htz/v, extra CV2 out mod, CV-MIDI) and audio in, sound wise there isn’t anything in it tho I did think the Plus had a slightly warmer sound when I first got it but I think this was...

I disagree, i think the real acid sound comes from the phrasing of a pattern. The 303 puts a weird feel onto the sequence, what with all the sliding and accenting and so forth, the sound is second. Of course it's important to have that squealing filter, but why most clones fail is that they omit th...

Hmmm...I wondering if its worth getting rid of the Pulse+ and my brand new Revolution for a 777 or perhaps am I getting a little carried away. :? You might want to check this out: http://www.acidvoice.com/777.htm http://www.acidvoice.com/ Good stuff! Now there's a link that solves a lot of d...

Good responses here guys thanks. Maybe I should stay fast for the time being I'm sure a 777 will point my way when I'm ready (i.e. when I don't have to get rid of any other decent bits of kit) but I'd be very annoyed if these things start to skyrocket beyond my budget if the 303 fanatics catc...

I don't know about the Basstation but the Pulse+ has an excellent MIDI/CV interface and you can even route internal LFO's, velocity, VCA ect to the extra CV out which would be nice with the Pro1's external filter CV in. Basstaions are still much cheaper tho.

I find that freebie softsynths whilst having some having a very respectable sound tend to always fall short with external MIDI CC use. I don't think you'll find any freebie to match the sound quality of something like an Arturia or be as extensive as an FM7/8 but some can be on par with some older V...

You don’t necessarily have to have a 303 for an ‘acid’ sound tho I think the term is associated with that kind of slightly overdriven squelchy resonant analogue sound which you can get from many other sound sources. In terms of the traditional acid house music not every song had a TB303 in it and no...

Sequencing detunes and waveforms, whatever you want to sequence, you can different values for ach of the steps for any parameter. No other groovebox has done this (except the Polymorph's older brother, the Spectralis). . How about the Monomachine? I'm not sure how the Monomachine's sequencer works ...

So what makes you want an acid setup if it's something you are not really into or know much about? I really like the idea of it. The whole string of synced boxes and all. It's something I haven't exploited well enough. This dude does it quite well. 8) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uas6drU9Teo

it always helped me to have a lucky shirt whenever i dropped acid. it was an all over shirt that had a coral reef on it. we would all sit around and stare at it for hours... Also, a main requirement of the next 303, it has to have a character that doesn't fit at all with current trends and has to almost completely fail at its intended purpose. It also has to sound genuinely different than anything else, which none of the ones mentioned do. The Polymorph was supposed to...

Re: How would one emulate the 777’s cv warp?

Its quite a unique feature but its slightly unclear from the online manual about what exactly is going on. Is it reverse keytracking mixed with a little VCO mod or something completely different? How would you achieve the same effect on another synth (if any)? :? In all honesty, I don't think Jered...
