How would one emulate the 777’s cv warp?
Its quite a unique feature but its slightly unclear from the online manual about what exactly is going on. Is it reverse keytracking mixed with a little VCO mod or something completely different? How would you achieve the same effect on another synth (if any)?

Does the x0x0b0x’s signal path allow for the mixer section on a real 303? I’ve been told that this is what gives the 303 that subtle punchy clipping sound at high accent levels that always seem to be lacking from all clones/emulators I’ve tried (or own). The demos I’ve heard of the x0xb0x sound spot...

Soundwave, tried to send you a PM but was having issues. Was just wondering, how close is Preston to Blackpool? I'll be in the UK around mid September, was thinking maybe we could hit up for a coffee or something while I was in town. It's about an hour on the bus or 30mins on the train, not a great...

For sure the Raven then 309 and came out around the same time as a rival to the MC303 but the Technox and Quasar were doing the rounds long before then and they were specifically aimed for the dance market with a beefy sound that lived up to the hype which was very few and far between back then. I l...

I think MIDI is a dated tired interface, which has been holding back the potential of a solid reliable and flexible control medium for synths especially for live/performance use for far too long. I think the reason for this is that the big manufactures think the vast majority of users won’t need any...

Re: Quasimidi
For synthesis and sound exploration the AN1X hands down but for a raw gritty techno workstation/drum machine the Sirius is hard to 'beat' (excuse the pun).Jexus wrote:
what would you choose then, the sirius or an1x in terms of synthesis ? cause I know the sirius has the drum and vocoding stuff

Re: Quasimidi
they term of synthesis is not too clear..I wonder which one is using analog modelling and which one is just a sample based synth. With the exception of QUASAR/RAVEN with M.A.S.S. engine, I guess all other QUASIMIDI synths are PCM synths. I think M.A.S.S. is just another fancy term for ROMpler in a ...

Re: Quasimidi
Yes. I just bought one. Seems to be da best. BTW, Quasimidi is a strange name. I'm also think that the Sirius is the best bet. but since they term of synthesis is not too clear..I wonder which one is using analog modelling and which one is just a sample based synth. I sometime wonder if the Quasar ...

If you want an ‘all in one’ go for the Sirius but be aware it only has...

Re: It doesn't matter.
Too much math in my music. If it sounds good, it is good. Ditto. No one thinks of music in terms of milliseconds. Nobody thinks of music in miliseconds, but everybody can hear it. People can hear timing differences of less than 0,5 miliseconds. That is just 15 samples at 44.1kHz. Getting worried ab...
