Re: Is it worth buying an 808 for £1400

I'm not short of money, but i can't justify spending that amount on a 28 year old drum machine, that may go wrong, and getting it repaired/serviced costs a lot and that adds to it all, and often you can't resell gear at the price you bought it for originally. I guess like Wiss said, use samples of i...

Re: Analog Synth Tempo Knobs??

you could use a digital bpm counter, ie: synth (output) -----> BPM counter (if it has an audio thru jack) ------> Mixer

Re: 606 control Jx-3p - xOxbOx control 606...

I always found din-sync sloppy on the x0xb0x. But to sync the 606 from the x0x, you would just use a din-sync cable and set the 606 to input if using the x0x as master, and other way about if using the 606 as master. As for the JX-3P, you need to run a cable from the 606 trigger out (any of the 2 LT...

Is it worth buying an 808 for £1400

£1400 is a bit steep for an 808 imo, but 808 prices seem to be high over here in the UK, albeit they are much cheaper in the US so i have noticed on ebay.com. Do you think it's worth paying all that money?

I do a lot with just one 303 you mean. Have owned an x0x as well, not as good as the 303 imo.

If the girlfriend/wife has spent more money than you on shoes and handbags, than you have spent on gear - then that is a cause for concern!

Re: over-consumerism

I would have to say, that i have 'under-consumerism' less-is-more approach for me. The less gear you have, the more time to make music.

You can send your 606 to either James Walker @ Synth Repair Services in Stoke-On-Trent, or Adrian Dolente @ Synth Restore in Bedford, whichever town is closest to you.

I dunno, because he has actually owned the real thing for years and can do a meaningful comparison in his own studio, and not with a dodgy pair of cans in a noisy exhibition? Just a thought, but maybe what we have here is an expert opinion... Maybe... but apparently the price seems to have put Mr N...

Re: Arturia Origin Keyboard - Wow!

Syn303 - I'm confident you do not mean that. I'm sure you know not all software based synths, whether hardware of software, are rubbish. I'm talking about software that requires mouse clicks and keyboards. I know that modern synthesizers, drum machines and sequencers all rely on software of one kin...
