Those defects are what gives synth's their character. Even the 303's square wave isn't a square wave. It's a sawtooth wave that's turned upside down every other cycle, giving out that well-known unique hollow sound.meatballfulton wrote:All the things people love most about the 303 are design defects.

Re: Arturia Origin Keyboard - Wow!
But to reiterate - IMO, owning 3 mint condition CS80s Why would anyone who owns 3 mint CS80's bang on about a piece of software, that has none of nuances and temperaments that analogue circuits possess? Software is just cold and digital, it has no real warmth as analog has. Most members on here wou...

Re: KRAUTROCK Synths !!!!! atmospheres
Why buy more gear? Some good programming on the Virus Indigo and Triton LE will get you some of those soundscapes. It seems people buy more and more gear to compensate for their lack of programming skills.

Re: Novation Bass Station vs. Waldorf Pulse
I always thought the Super Bass Station was better as it included the addition of a Sub-Osc, to give bass sounds more bottom end.

I had a Voyager for a while, but i preferred my Minimax-ASB over it, and... happily bounced the Voyager out of the door.

Re: what the tb-303 offer more then the x0xb0x?
What makes the 303 is it's sequencer. The x0x's has just a basic 16-step sequencer, it doesn't have that time-mode note length entry, the x0x doesn't have that which is it's shortcoming, that's why the 303 is unique because of the time-mode function. Patterns are never the same twice.

Re: im a little surprised my searches havent turned anything up
You need synth modules like the EMU Vintage/Classic Keys, Vintage Pro or Roland's MVS-1, you could probably get 2 of those modules i mentioned for under 500 bucks.

Re: Nord Lead 2X or 3?
The Reason that the Nord 3 is harder to find is because it has been discontinued by Clavia, due to the heavy metals used in the IC's. I've had both a 2x and a Rack 3, and i found the 2x to much better sound-wise, whereas the 3 sounded a bit thinner to my ears. Of course it had a nice front panel wit...

Looks nice, looks well expensive though - will this steal Manikin's thunder, or did they get the idea from them i wonder ? Incidentally Manikin are working on a rack version of the Memotron. http://www.mellotron.com/audities/images/digitalMELLOTRON.jpg http://www.mellotron.com/audities/images/digita...
