Aye laddie, that's the ticket, the trick is to run the small stone on a lower power setting, i run mine at 7.5V, but i can also use it a 6V, for slower sweeping.nathanscribe wrote:Allegedly Jarre had his Small Stones modded to run on 6V so they'd sweep more slowly.

It won't give you the 'exact' sound, for that you need the Eminent 310U, to really nail it.matia wrote:running damn near anything through an electro harmonix smallstone phaser will give you that jarre oxygen sound. it's the phaser he used.

Re: who uses keyboard workstation
Do any other workstations offer this feature? Being a Motif user I'm (blissfully?) unaware of what Fantom, Triton, Oasys, M3, etc. offer. The Fantoms allow you to create your own user arpeggios up to 16 steps in length (step-time recording) and each note can have a different velocity setting, in es...

Re: What are those small dots???!!!
Dots? you mean those little dots in a star shape - read the manual page 15
Kits that are not associated with any pattern are distinguished by a little star (those little dots) after the kit name.
They cannot be deleted.

Re: next?
however, I have little experience with buying monitors, and hope for some advice. anything else I should look for/consider getting? I am hoping to minimize the amounts of gear, and I am pretty sure I'll get my bass needs from a future Voyager RME, and more "round" sounding poly sound from a Virus o...

Re: MFB news: New analog CV sequencer and Kraftzwerg expander
I've had it with MFB gear... I bought a Kraftzwerg in the summer and it never worked, the thing was totally borked! Think i will hold out for doepfer's Dark Time sequencer and Dark Matter expansion module, of course i have to buy a Dark Energy first  Of course, new gear is always interesting to...

Re: who uses keyboard workstation
you mean you erase everything even the samples. what did you do loaded with the samples from those vintage synths. My Fantom-Xa didn't come loaded with vintage synth samples, it came loaded with shitty rap-crap and r n' b vocal samples, so that lot had to go. For vintage synth stuff you have put in...

Re: hardware sequencing issues need help
If your using a midi-thru box ie: 1 x midi in to 5 x midi outs, you will need to assign a different midi channel to each instrument, or else you will get midi-sync problems, or nothing sync'n at all.
Why can't you use the Machindrum as the master clock, it has rock solid timing?

Re: who uses keyboard workstation
I use a fully Expanded Fantom-Xa, gives me all the sounds i need. I don't use the presets on it though, not even as sound building blocks. I erased the entire user area and built my own user sounds from scratch. Now i have 256 user slots of everything from Elka Rhapsody's to pin sharp Moog leads to ...

What you are describing could be the beige coloured Hohner String Vox (Which is really a re-badged Elka Rhapsody 490) sold under Hohner for the international market.

Re: Doepfer Dark Time
I do know there is also talk of Doepfer doing a expansion module for the Dark Energy called Dark Matter which will have noise, second VCO, second envelope, multimode VCF, S&H, VCLFO with reset, attenuators and some more functions. Statement from Dieter Doepfer "The Dark Time is still in the design s...

Looks like next-year is going to be a year of step-sequencers! Colin Fraser's - Cirklon (although still in planning phase) http://www.sequentix.com/images/cirklon-pp.jpg Analogue Solutions - Europa (looks MAM-ish with a bit of Electribe thrown in!) http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix/105_IMG_01...
