Behringer Virtualizer Pro is rotten-cheap and very effective. that's a very interesting suggestion - i've never looked into a virtualizer beyond being a stereotypical multi effects unit w/ the standard delay, reverb, chorus, flanger & so on. hadn't read into how it has that vocoder, vinyl simulator...

out of my pile of drum machines, only time i turn on my SR-16 is to fake live drums. add a little reverb and it's amazingly easy to pull off.

it's not ALL punk-ish, but you might like some stuff by add n to (x) . earlier stuff was 3 people playing synths and a live drummer or two, they didn't switch to drum machines until later stuff before they split up. check out tracks like FYUZ, robot new york, brothel charge & large number . if you h...

synth II does have glide but it only functions when using a controller or playing the keys, doesn't affect the sequencer. that and individual step editing are the only two disappointments i've found (have to program an entire sequence step-by-step from start to finish. kind of cool that it knows to ...

Re: i am loving my repeater!

i am SO GLAD to finally have a piece of gear that'll record loops live and send a start signal when you hit record. i don't get why they all don't do this. seems so obvious. congrats on your new toy, by the way. i have a WarpFactory, and it's bomb-proof. i love Electrix's stuff. yeah, i hunted samp...

i agree, there's a gigantic difference. if you're looking to be twisting knobs and pressing keys and getting started w/ analog synths, CS-5 is a great place to start. it was my first analog, years before synth gear became my focus. it's limited in its variety of sounds, but it is very simple and ver...

i'm still new to mine, but the sounds and compact size alone make this thing worthwhile. programming (thus far) isn't the greatest, but i haven't delved into editing it live (other than messing w/ settings, of course). the glide function does not affect its sequencer, which does suck. the release ti...

i am loving my repeater!

except for how it's intermittent as a master to other gear when switching from one loop bank to another. sometimes it stops everything else's playback when it begins the new loop, sometimes it doesn't and everything keeps running though. could've put that in the help section, but it's really just my...

thanks to the few of you who chimed in.
wound up passing on it. even if it's something discontinued and tough to come across, i'm pretty sure it'd be a better move to go w/ the mkII and use a controller. especially if i'd hope to haul it around, and definitely if it'd be less expensive.

I bought my MS-10 back from Dj Fetus . He was good to deal with, just like before. Good communication and shipped insured. Even though he purposely went out in an explosion, he corresponded via email with me to make sure I received my parcel. It is only proper to give feedback where it is due. :hap...
