no problem, glad to help :)
i'd been thinking of letting mine go to make some more space, but it's so much clearer than the one in my microkorg i've decided to hang onto it for now. guess that might be a good comparison for you.

555 first reaction. "man, this thing does look cheesier than the MPC's. least it's a nice metal housing. and the manual's not a headache... wow, pretty annoying having to power it down and back up holding a button to turn off it's protection...then again to switch its midi...wonder what i'll have to...

they work well and can be very clear. even works well with a more cluttered formant like a guitar. it's two rack spaces tall & wide and about 4" deep.

707s are selling dirt cheap lately if you wanna pick up one of those.
personally i think they're highly underrated.

ha! just looked at the 707's page and its description even kicks off w/ saying it's very underrated! swear i hadn't done that intentionally!

...but I still think the SP505 has the most flexible editing of samples. The 555 looks like it is oriented more for live sampling and performance, which is a nice direction for Roland to take. sample editing is one thing i'm not worried about now that samplers have USB. do all my editing in protool...

Re: Delay with Expression pedal input?

you can do that with a line 6 DL4. adding an expression pedal to it lets it switch from having 3 saved delays to 6 and the pedal morphs it back and forth between two.

If I recall correctly, the D Beam on the MC505, JX305, and EG101 preceeded the Kaoss pad by a couple of years. Just sayin' :D oh, really? i hadn't looked into the history of the d beam or anything, was just guessing that. I know that the SP606 had a sample mode where it would send Start/Stop messag...

Followed up by, well, usually I don't like compilations, but Urb Vol 1 is an unusually good snapshot of solid tunes from the early 90s. I think anyway... any suggestion o...
