Re: Electribe Questions

I know this is old but I have to comment on the ESX. This will be hard for me not to come across negative about the ESX but I would be interested to hear if any others have experienced the same... ...It has everything I want on the ES-1 but it does not have the sound. That is the deal breaker. this...

Re: Electribe Questions

i think they're both great machines, but the ESX definitely has the edge when it comes to features and power. that said, don't discount the ES-1, as it has a dirty & dark sound of its own (that sounds fantastic to my ears) and complements any of the other 'tribes nicely. if you're choosing between t...

i'd say a thousand or so sounds about right. i can't imagine there being many more than that. maybe the OP has contacted them by now??

i remember the contest but felt i was too "green" at programming to enter. i probably was. i used to keep up with the Yahoo group pretty well too, but i don't check it much at all anymore. i'm almost certain Bitexion's "Satan Bass" patch is available there in the files section.

[ I don't have any current gear pics, and I don't have a camera. But I can tell you how things are laid out... great gear you have there! thanks very much for listing it. i knew you had the EMX and R3 and was interested in seeing what you were using them with. awesome choices on the Frostwave stuff...

I sold the MS2K after getting the EMX. While they don't sound exactly alike, the EMX sounds more like the MS2k than the ESX. I like that the R3 sounds Korg like, but not microKorg like. It has it's own vibe; the R3 is not a replacement for the microKorg. I think the only thing the R3 is missing is ...

the folks at Elektron are swell people. i'm almost certain if you e-mail them, they'll likely tell you the precise number.

I'm not a great example...but if you listen to my tracks, then listen to ookpick's tracks...they are so very different...and we both use MDs and MnMs. I think these machines get unfairly dismissed as IDM machines. They are useful for all types of music. for the record, i've always liked your stuff ...

my Ion has worked great for years now. and i've said this before, but if i had to remark at all about the output, i'd say my Ion is one of the hotter synths in my studio, volume-wise.

and the Ion is fantastic for pads, brass, and even strings.

im assuming youve never used a machinedrum. im not endorsing the use of one but you would probably not say this if you had i own a Monomachine and i have to agree with diezdiazgiant. a lot of what i hear from people using the MM and MD are "day one" type stuff -- they slap in an ugly beat, go bonke...

well, I've tried everything you've suggested above, I always try to make loops as long as possible (mostly one pattern on the ESX is just one progressive drumbeat), I use the double BPM-trick to kick up the resolution you don't need to double the BPM. just go into the Beat setting (under the Patter...

the best part of Industrial is that you can use absolutely any synth out there to create. there are literally no limits. i've heard killer leads from PSR Yamahas and dirty drum loops fed thru SK-1s. obviously your typical VA synth will get you there pretty quickly: Virus series, Nord Lead series, Ko...

honestly, it's rare when i watch pretty much any YouTube video all the way thru. this was, for some freak reason, one of an extremely select few that made it all the way to the end of the status bar. i mean, it wasn't even "so bad it's good." i actually started to get a little angry about halfway th...

if history is any sort of guide, this rebate is likely indicative of a price drop not too far off in the future (maybe for the M3 as well). even though i sometimes use them, i'm generally against rebates (if you've redeemed more than a handful, you'll know why), so if the price were to become 450 o...
