i like A, and sorta dislike B for the same reasons shaft mentioned. A is warmer and gentler, a little easier to listen to.

that's a really pretty tune, by the way. i'd listen to several more minutes of that.

Without the midi out it would be completely worthless IMHO, but given the decent midi implementation(start/stop, pitchbend, portamento, sustain, etc.) agreed. this thing dodges "toy" status by a hair. i wish it had a mod wheel in addition to the one for pitch. it's a bit of an enigma to me -- what ...

bought an SHS-10 today! who else has one?

a little flea market find here. 8 bucks, talked down from ten. it's missing the battery cover and strap, but yay! i had one of these a few years back (bought at the same flea market for 5 bucks, in the box) and sold it on Ebay for a tidy profit. i immediately regretted that decision. the cash was ni...

Jimi Hendrix used to have a right-handed microphone that he had set up for left-handed use.

killedaway- i said "better drums and synth sounds than the [mc]303" not "has synths sounds which will ensure that you cannot help but produce the most mind-blowingly awesome music in the world". I didn't even say they were good, necessarily, but for a CHEAP groovebox which he intends to use largely...

Re: Cool places to by effects

first, i have to say sweetwater. i love those people. i would say they treat you like family, but h**l, they treat me better than most of my family. www.sweetwater.com i have to agree. i placed my first order with them a couple weeks ago for some guitar stuff and Gator case for my microKORG. they w...

are you kidding? the RM1x has some of the worst sounds i've ever heard (i owned one for a couple of years). if we're talking sequencing alone, i'd go with the RM1x. but sounds, i'd much rather -- wait... to be honest, i wouldn't wish either on my worst enemy. what kind of music are you doing? if it'...

my EMX-1 is where all of my songs (since i've owned it) have begun. my older tracks all began life on the EA-1/ER-1/ES-1 trio. like someone else mentioned above, considering that today's synths are capable of so many different sounds, not only is there nothing wrong with using the same one in every ...

for me, it's Korg. i'm surprised to see so many others looking at Korg in the same light as i do: i find that they take some big risks, and of all the "big guys", they seem to try really hard to please fans of their gear. i think Roland has been playing it WAY too safe for several years now, and tho...

microkorg "tape choir" i quite enjoy. kawai k4's vibes preset. gorgeous i agree with both of these completely. and while it's not a question of presets per se, i love the piano sounds in the K4. that's right, i said it! i think for me, i prefer to start from scratch almost all of the time. i build ...

i'm gonna say, Korg EA-1 or microKORG, Yamaha DX7, or one of the Junos that i'm unfamiliar with. seriously, i see a TON of folks on here (who post anyway) who own an EA-1.

...but for now I will have to do with my Boss SE70 the SE70 has one of my more favorite vocoders. dirty, but warm and highly intelligible. i use an Electrix Warpfactory, a Behringer Virtualizer Pro (similar to the vocoding abilities of the Boss SE boxes), and now a microKORG. i think the vocoders i...
