Alesis Andromeda A6 or Oberheim OB-Xa???
Well, I'm getting a summer job this year to get money for one of these two fine synths. Both go for about the same price used. But my question is: how do the sounds compare? On paper it seems that the A6 should blow any other synth into the wall. Another thing is about "maintenance" of older gear an...

I'm looking for a midi controller. Ahh, ok. You started naming sounds that you wanted so I thought you were talking about synths there for a minute. But the Oxygen 49 has great key action. You can buy it new for less than $150 U.S. It actually has key action equal to or better than most other synth...

As Automatic said most synths only have 1 VCA. But sadly the 800 only has one filter for ALL 8 OSCILLATORS/VOICES. I couldn't stand the thing. Every time I sat down with it I wanted to chunk it out the window. Glad I sold it, now I have my JX-8P with a filter for each osc/voice, the way it should be...

So do you use soft synths or hardware synths? But the M-Audio Oxygen 49 has nice key action and more features than what I know what to do with. But the sounds you're looking for wouldn't come from a controller but from what ever sound module you have connected to it. Are you wanting a synth or a MID...

I REALLY HATE HEARING THE FOLLOWING: 1. "Synthesizers aren't real instruments, you just press a button and all the song comes out" 2. "Synthesists have no talent and do not deserve groupies when they play in rock bands" Ye, I really hate hearing that too. Playing synthesizers takes a lot more talen...

Hmm... so far just the Korg Poly-800. All voices are ran through a single filter, additive synthesis, doesn't have a standard ADSR, and to get halfway decent sounds you have to stack the DCO's and then it's a 4-voice synth. And to me it doesn't sound as analogue as other keyboards like the JX-8P; he...

I'm right handed but I use both my hands when playing bass and treble, or if I'm just doing one I'll use my left hand for mod wheel. At first using my left hand was odd especially in coordination with my right, but after some practice I got used to it and now my left hand is almost as fast as my rig...

so much talk that I just needed to buy this synth and check out its awesomeness it has just arrived I've made a quick vid http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=R-hML-I5RV0 That vid has been on there for 2 months. :P Idk, if I manage to find a DX7 for under $200 I think I'll just brace myself and take the d...
