Back in the early 90's, I traded a Prophet 5, rev 1 for a PAD-80 with stand and 2 Simmons pads (what was I thinking!). I added a FatKAT kick pedal trigger to "complete" the "drum kit." I always wanted an electronic set and this was as close as I could get. I mainly used it in the studio, triggering ...

If it were a MIDI key, there would most likely be an extra button and or switch for changing MIDI info (ie: Rx channel). Did you try transmitting on ALL 16 channels from your Triton?

You can download manuals for most Roland products for free: http://backstage.rolandus.com/login.php The JP-6 was Roland's first synth with MIDI, so its implementation is VERY basic. I strongly recommend getting Synthcom's Europa upgrade if you haven't already. As far as I know, all factory JP-6's re...

ALthough I have aquired other synths with external ins over the years, the only synth I ever processed external sounds with is my Roland SH-2. I used to run drum sounds from my 808 through its filter or create additional percussion or bass.

I'm sure that would be possible. Other than FSK2, I have never messed with sync tones/pulses on tape. You would still need to split the signal if you want both machines in sync. Another option would be a Roland SBX-10 sync box. It has 2 variable pulse outputs as well as DIN sync and MIDI. I think th...

Americans actually liked Loverboy? I was kind of thrown off when so many of you mentioned Saga as a favourite. Now this. Wow. It was a guilty pleasure of the time. I like listening to the synth stuff now that I'm older. It's too bad Saga didn't make a bigger impression in the US market than they di...

I always thought the synths sounded like Oberheims, especailly on "It's Over." I would have never thought they were Yamaha CS, but then again, I'm not as familiar with the CS sound.

Sounds like you would need some way to split the signal of the trigger out from the drum machine to both synths. I can't speack for the 707, but I know the trigger out on the 626 comes from what you program for the rim shot. The TR-606 has 2 trigger outs: one for each tom (hi & lo). That way you wou...

I thought it sounded to clean to be sampled, especailly with the trills.
8bit9bot wrote:now the question is... how did they make the similar sound which is in blasphemous rumors? maybe the same way... i dunno
That sound sounds sampled to me. Very 12 bit.

The "Shawm" is most likely the Synclavier as stated in this Wiki article: http://www.answers.com/topic/everything-counts?cat=entertainment EDIT: After listing to the music in the video, I noticed a trill at the beginning of some phrases, which could be the result of mutli-sampling or playing the act...

Since I have only used my 100m and no other modulars, I can only comment on ITS sound. My 5 module system has 2 Dual VCO modules, which I can use as a THICK MONO, a heavily modulated mono or DUAL MONO. The sound is very clen, thick and reminescent of my SH-2. However, the Roland system will be much ...

It's definately not a real choir and it doesn't sound like Mellowtron to me. I'm not familiar with the Chamberlin's sounds, so I'm going to say "some synth." I bet it's really "something else" maybe a tape effect like 10cc's "I'm Not In Love." I like the part that starts at the end of "Track 1". You...

The TR-626 can be heard on Front 242's Front By Front and many of Ozric Tentacles' late 80's/early 90's tunes. The 626 is basically an updated version of the 505. The PCM sounds can be tuned and panned. The best part about about the TR series (except for the 505 & 606) are the individual outs. That ...

That Meloyne program looks intersting, but I'm not sure if you can extract different instruments from an existing song. I think what it is aimed at is taking a single track from a session and manipulating each note in the audio realm as you could with MIDI notes in a sequencer. Amazing demo, though!
