I was just looking at the manual for the SX210. There are both 8 voice and 4 voice polyphonic modes. The 4 voice mode doubles or layers the current sound on itself. The MONO mode is actually a monophonic, 8 DCO UNISON mode. Could be useful for basses & leads. Unfortunately, there is no unison detune...

I had my tech replace the batteries in both my MKS-80's earlier this year. Didn't ost too much - I'll have to look at the invoice. Like $20 or so for the battery and half hour or so of labor. I've never been a big fan of sampling synths, especially analogs. The whole beauty of a synth is playing it....

I put in a max bid of $55.55. Since I have never heard the synth before, I didn't want to put too much into it. I looked at a few reviews online an it looks promising. There were many more reviews about the SX240 which has 2 DCO's, MIDI and a sequencer. Sound like that's the synth to keep your eyes ...

Tell us how it sounds when you get it. I was bidding on that one too hoping few would catch the misspelled title. I didn't want to go much more than $50.

The Boss SE-50 has a multi pitch shifter. I think there are 5 ptich shifters. I remember setting up octaves & 5ths and having a buddy play trumpet through it to create a trumpet "section".

SE-50 is kind of noisey though.

[quote="meatballfulton"]I'd agree that workstations (Triton, Motif, Fantom) probably sell 10-20X what the Voyager does. Of the four synths listed in the OP, I think the MicroKorg would easily top the list...they are everywhere, in stores, on stages, in the want ads 8) quote] Remember that churches r...

The Akai AX-60 is a single VCO polysynth. I woned one in the late 80's/early 90's. I got some pretty thick sounds from it. I used to play "I'll Wait" with it quite a bit. It wasn't capable of the really thick and bright "Jump" sound, but pretty close. I'm sure its onboard chorus helps out quite bit.

Akai AX-60 has split keyboard and an awesome arpeggiator. After joining this forum, I regret selling mine.

I got more work on the refinsh project in today. First, I took some 150 grit sandpaper and worked on the burns from the heat gun: http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x30/zudio/MiniMoog%20Restoration/MiniMoogChassisFront150Sandpaper.jpg http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x30/zudio/MiniMoog%20Restorati...

That was cool! I would love to see what a GC looked like in 1979 with ARPs, Moogs & Obies instead of "workstation of the month."

Korg DS-8 I was not aware that DS-8 even had a filter (resonant at least). It may not. I just picked one up not too long ago. I have not looked at the manual yet. It features the mid 80's joystick controller like the DW's. There are some programs that the bender affects the pitch, but some that aff...

Another idea could be a synth with inputs on the back to control the filter (JP-6 & MemMoog come to mind) and use a MIDI/CV box.

Korg DS-8

I'm sure all the Roland SH's do that. I do it all the time with my SH-2 & 101. But Silversurfer is wating to control with MIDI. I read somewhere (on VSE possibly) that you could use a MIDI/CV converter with multiple CV outs and run one into the Mod Grip input of the 101.
