Re: Want to dive into modulars, need advice.
that's the one i was talking about! i've spent much time planning a "Monster Case"-sized Eurorack on that, so much homework to figure out what you need, what you want, and especially what module does what. i like the Plan B stuff a lot because it has a lot of the functionality of the old 200 series ...

Re: 3-inch CD'rs?
be aware people with slot-loading players will not be able to play your 3" disks. all of my computers in my studio (all macintoshes) have slot-loading players along with the place i listen to music the most- my car.

Re: Voyager old school compared to Minimoog?
Yes! You are just the person I would like to hear give an opinion since you own 2 different original Minimoogs. I can't believe you actually got an old school. Did you buy it or borrow it? Spill a little info! How is it shaping up? Would've been nice if it had midi. i bought it used, it was a barga...

Re: Want to dive into modulars, need advice.
if anyone is interested i think i have come to my decision. i'm pretty sure i'm going to go with a doepfer a-100 to start. it's not the most impressive system but it is affordable and offers the biggest room for expansion, plus seems to be in the most widely used format opening more doors for bring...

Re: Voyager old school compared to Minimoog?
yes, it is coming, i've done one on video. btw, the voyager old school is a minimoog, you mean voyager old school v model d. i'll try to scrape up some time this week and post it on the youtubery (& VSE) for human consumption. part of why i did it is because i think that other video is really poorly...

Re: Korg Legacy Digital Edition - Thoughts?
i have the original analog edition (which includes the Wavestation). it's fantastic, well worth the price. if the M1 is as good as the Wavestation it would be an even better buy. the emulated analog synths are not so hot. this is probably exactly what you're looking for. as i mentioned in the other ...

Re: what makes an instrument "professional"?
Well the SK-1 has a Bossa Nova button, but I think the SK series doesn't count. However, my Hammond with integratred Leslie has a Bossa Nova button. So I'd rectify and I'd say that what makes an instrument professional is the lack of a Demo button. Now let's see who finds a counterexample. blue let...

Re: How do I do this and not get sued???
I have a great electronic album that I'd like to share with everyone. It's over 30 years old, never made it to CD, and vinyl copies are long out-of-print, extremely rare, (and expensive). I'm sure it's still under some kind of copyright protection, but my reasoning is that if the copyright holder a...

Re: what makes an instrument "professional"?
to me it's features. you can use a toy in professional/commercial music but they generally lack features and build quality.
also, if you get it as a christmas present from macy*s, it's a classic:
