nice! i would also add some of the stellar electronics in Donnie Darko , and stray to television for the evil, eerie warmth that is the opening to the 1980's Tales from the Darkside series, i think that was John Harrison, too. and also, the entire Wendy Carlos soundtrack to A Clockwork Orange , mayb...

this was a really easy fix. it probably took longer to unscrew & rescrew the synth than to unsolder and resolder the new pots. that's antistatic bubblewrap for electronics, lest you get the idea i'm just throwing anything over those electronics. make sure you are careful about any solder debris fall...

i recently replaced a few pots from my J6, it's an incredible amount of screws to undo to get to the UI board and you can't remove the board (like you can with the controller board) to any reasonable degree, so you have to work on it connected to the synth. simple fix as long as you can desolder and...

Re: Spectrum tilting

some of that stuff is common sense, most is old news, and some of it is just plain truthiness.

so far i haven't been impressed, looks cool but so many of the factory wavetables just seem to simulate what you can do with greater control with FM/PM synthesis. You can produce timbral morphs with wavetable synthesis that nothing else can get remotely close to. You can have any spectrum of ...

The only downside is having strangers come to your home studio, which I find to be a bit unnerving. Somtimes you meet interesting people though. truer words never spoken. if i sell anything, i take it out of my studio and into the kitchen. but as a buyer i've seen some interesting studios because o...

off the market for the XT as of this morning, i work fast... Great move, that's the early XT unit with the original knobs before they switch to the Q style knobs for the later design like the one I own. I like the older looks better though. Even when I got the Blofeld, the XT will always stay. so f...

stick to modern MOTU stuff for MIDI interfaces, no question about it. you are looking for MIDI routing , not splitting. my first MIDI interface was a little Opcode job that did not have routing, so it was limited to addressing only 16 midi channels for all devices put together. MIDI routing function...

it doesn't sound like any popular dx patch, but it does sound like an 80s digital synth. very, very simple sound to recreate on a modern synth.

my only b***h w/eBay (besides the fees) is that negatives and neutrals stay on record waaaay too long. Im 100% positive as a seller, but about 5 years ago I bought sample memory for my EX7 from some dork who not only charged me $20 for "overnight" shipping of less than an ounce, but it took 3 days ...
