Re: Voltage Converters <<<____-------

Receiving a yamaha CS-5 from the UK and need to know how to get it down to US voltage. maybe the answer is right in front of me but i wanted to consult the experts. any tips? a good electronics store will sell a voltage step-up converter/transformer for maybe $20 if the synth can't be configured fo...

Good luck with the midiquest. I upgraded to the latest version, since I picked up an XT and Q (again), and the Q editor bites. I haven't tried the XT one yet. Sounddiver still works pretty well, but you need an xs key, and it won't work forever... however, I was turned onto a rather nice one. It's ...

every synth i've ever bought from craigslist i've bargained down from asking price with the exception of my Juno 2: it was dirt cheap and like new, including it's Roland hard case.

saw it- there's none listed.

the MIDIQuest XL may be my best bet, i installed a few modules to see how it worked- the µwave, the UltraProteus, the FS1R and the Prophet VS- they look pretty solid.

Re: Waldorf Microwave XT editors for the Macintosh

other than that, i've found MidiQuest XL: downloaded the demo but have yet to fire it up. Well this might be perfect for you. You won't know until you try it... i really hate to blow $400 for another universal, though. i bought Galaxy when Opcode was around, and own Unisyn... i like the idea of $50...

Waldorf Microwave XT - wood sides?

a googling of the Microwave XT pulls up a rumor of once available wooden sides for the XT, maybe like the minimoog RME has. this is a fantastic idea... is anybody selling these, or do i need to prod the synthwood people to make 'em?

Waldorf Microwave XT editors for the Macintosh

yesterday i picked up an XT and i know there are a huge amount of users on this board... what kind of software editors are available for the Macintosh, even legacy software if it's still available for download? so far i've tried Unisyn which sorta works, sorta doesn't... it's not even listed as supp...

they're fine, but its one of those limited synths that you can sit with for 30 minutes and feel you pretty much know everything it can do. i think after the 303, its the most recognizable synth, similarly because of its limited synthesis abilities. i would go for a JX3P instead or at least the alpha...

SK-1 is to synthesizers what PixelVision is to videocameras. i still have mine in my studio, the same one i got from the great music store (Macy*s) when i was a yute. if i remember, they were a pretty price-y, hot xmas toy, like $100 or $150 dollars, but they gave us a taste of sampling and certain ...

i prefer craigslist, but they are both local businesses to me, eBay HQ is about 5 miles from me, and i remember craigslist when it was more of a bay area event list. i believe eBay bought a 25% stake in craigslist, btw, reminiscent of when eBay failed with BidPay and then just bought the competition...

i usually stick with large diaphram AKG mics or an Audio-Technica condenser, i think those roll around 1 to 200 bucks. it's been my experience that a good preamp is more important and that i usually prefer the sound of "good" mics over "premium" mics when doing blind tests. if your vocals don't soun...
