Re: Why has no one made a midi controllable analog drum unit
there's a problem with these two: - wide sound range - 100% analog Any possible product at the moment that fits your requirement even closely will basically just be a TR-ish type thing.. unless you had a midi controllable modular drum machine or something! :D You're not going to get beyond these ba...

Re: help me find a drum synthesizer

A mixture of normal synthesis modules for complex sounds and perhaps some of the Concussor modules for basics? i have a modular, which I have made many percussive sounds on and then sampled, the idea of having a drum machine is to have something i can work with outside o...

Re: How to set up effects processing units
1. How many of you use more than one dedicated delay unit (not built into the instrument)? Yes, I do. (2) 2. Is it normal to use only one reverb unit for the entire mix (where/how do you insert it in the mix)? I dunno about normal or not.. just do what works. in regards to the second part of 2 and a...

Re: How much processing power do I need
The system you choose won't stop you from using any plugin/music software, it will just determine how many plugins/tracks you can run simultaneously.. I use a dual 2.16ghz c2d still and it's fine as long as I dont stack up a bunch of the really ridiculous mastering plugins on top of all the instrume...

Yeah I'd be careful if they have top/bottom vents, maybe put something between them to space them without blocking the vent..

Re: Hard Drive Space Not Showing OSX Snow Leopard
So... a small portion of the population uses the term swap file.
Doesn't change my point at all.. Calling it a swap file will confuse windows users.

if you can, use solid foam blocks placed on the panel either side of the knobbed sections, so that there's a kind of physical barrier from anything smashing the knobs.. Then I use a combination of bubble wrap + packing foam around the item, then I use scrunched up newspaper to fill out the bulk of t...
