Re: Why buy hardware synths?
"Why buy hardware synths?" Blofeld vs. Largo. -same algorithms (for the features that are the same) ..different sound. So it depends what sound you want. do you want the sound of largo? or do you want the sound of the blofeld? If you want the sound of the blofeld, that is why you buy hardware... bec...

Re: Boss SP303
yeah, the sp-303 definitely has a unique sound character compared to the 404.
depends if you want the features of the 404, or just basic sampling + the colour of the 303

Re: Best Software to create beats
yeah just learn anything , to start with it wont make any difference to you really,
once you have a better idea of things you can choose more specifically, all the basics are pretty much transferrable between all DAWs.

I want another ES-1mk2.. I'd probably get an ESX or 2 as well if I could afford.

Re: looping sampler : a hardware ableton
does the electrix repeater have a way of storing/loading samples? I thought it was just a live looper thing.. I'd say the kaoss pad 3. you'll probably want 2 though..- you can save loops to SD card, but you have to stop all 4 of the loops to load new ones. 2 kp3s means you can keep loops going on on...

Re: Final opinions of the Orb sequencer?
I've never used one, but I have to say..this goes out to alot of sequencers. in the age of digital sequencing, being limited to a small number of steps seems silly.. they could have made a 'pages' system where you can add more 'pages' of 16 steps, and have them chained together.

Re: Korg Micro Sampler
This will be my post-apocalyptic best friend.. remind me to buy one before 2012. Just remember to stock up on batteries! :D I think I'll let this one pass and keep my fingers crossed for an updated Roland SP-606 instead. Pedal power :) Or solar power if we dont get a nuclear winter/asteroid impact ...
