Re: Need a Hardware MIDI Sequencer, Looking at the Yamaha RMX-1
RM1X is pretty simple to get started, but at the same time, it can get complex... You don't need to use the built in sounds of course! I'd say it's worth it, unlesss you want to pay a bit more to get an e-mu command station or yamaha RS7000 (the rs7000 is basically the same sequencer but with some i...

Re: looping hardware
If you dont need more than 4x 4-bar loops, the Kaoss Pad 3 is pretty great.
But I think stab's right.. you probably want a multitrack recorder.. depends what you were hoping to do.

I think its fixed..
Just wondering.. does your synth not allow you to have different parts on different channels?

Re: Waldorf Blofeld... The Little Wonder Synth of The Decade!
Oh one more thing I should add, the older waldorf gear has permanent polyphony, an XT will always have 10 voices, a Q always 16. and a micro Q always 25. whereas the blofeld's voices drop if you use the wavetables or samples. Yes, this is true.. but the fact that the blofeld can only do some voices...

Re: M-Base Question
I figured that cartesia... I just couldn't resist. Yessss... I have been known to pick on the er-1 at times.. But at the end of the day, I've owned one twice, sold it twice.. but I *still* want another one! I'm debating if I should bother though.. I found a sample pack today online of the ER-1, tha...

Re: "Cut down" synths....
first of all, if you want to do classic Waldorf wavetabling, get XT, not the Blofeld. it sounds better to me (i own MW and XT). Blo has something i find fatiguing after a while, in its HF, when u open the filter. after going over trillion patches, i started gettin tired. Are you sure you played wit...

Re: cc automation lanes within ableton?(hardware synths)
Live is not meant to be a studio DAW, it's designed for live performance (funnily enough)
And in live performance, clip envelopes kick a*s!

Re: Waldorf Blofeld... The Little Wonder Synth of The Decade!
Multimode and clock sync bugs are real showstoppers for me. Is that statement about the volume knob being disabled while playing correct? That's insane . Vol. knob Works fine on mine, while things are playing etc... and I've never heard of that problem before. Also.. the person that keeps saying "t...

Re: Hardware Sampler suggetions ?
yeah the whole ram thing with MPCs is really annoying... dont forget to save things back to the card as well..
One of the reasons i decided to go with SP samplers instead, despite more limitations.

Re: mpc 500
Just for the record, the MPC 500 is incredibly cheap quality... Dont expect to use it on battery power without high noise-output.. the noise goes away mostly on mains power.. The menu diving is intense, the pads dont feel very nice either.. I would say, dont buy anything less than an MPC1000. (well....

Re: Waldorf Blofeld... The Little Wonder Synth of The Decade!
most of the remaining bugs are with multimode - dont expect to be using multimode in a live setting where you cant deal with sticking notes/freezing synths / etc.. It's ok most of the time, but sometimes messes up. - you might get through a show fine, but you would be taking a risk. Single mode is p...
