Re: Roland SP 808EX vs. Akai MPC1000
if it's like the other SPs , you just hit pads and play while its recording.. The SP samplers are not going to give you the features of the MPC>.. but they have a certain workflow that some people love.. Also as mentioned, the SP samplers have pretty good effects in them.. etter than the MPCs from w...

Re: 'Thickening Up' Digital Synth Tracks?
If you wanna do it on the cheap,
get a vcr, record the audio into it, then play it back off the vcr tape..
much higher quality than cassette, sounds nice.

Re: MS2000
Can we stop spreading false information here? THE MS2000 AND MICROKORG ARE THE SAME SYNTH ENGINE OUTSIDE OF THE MOD SEQUENCER IN THE MS2000. Kthxbye this means they have the same sound, period. there is nothing else that is different, except maybe a clearer vocoder because of the ms2000's xlr input...

Re: Cheap Drum Machine?
have you tried the ER-1?
It suffers a bit (OK.. a lot.. ridiculously alot) for snares and bassdrums, but is great for weird synthetic percussion

M-Base Question
I'm considering the possibility of buying an M-Base... Just one question: Can you make it receive midi on just a single note, of a single track? ..Or is it stuck always receiving on all notes? I want to sequence it from a drum machine, but the drum machine I'm thinking of will always send out a diff...

Re: New from Roland: SP-404SX
very dissappointing upgrade..
still no proper pitched-sample playing,
still no amp envelopes,
still only single track sequencing,
still no velocity sensitive pads.
great, if you want to play a 32gb wav file though..

Re: Help with TAL-U-No-62
go into the settings of cubase, and you should see it specify somewhere a folder where it will look for VST plugins.. now find that folder on your computer, and put the u-no-62 plugin file into that folder.. now next time you open up cubase I am guessing it will show up in your plugins/instruments l...

Soft VS Hard - EVIDENCE only.
I don't want this to become another 'my instrument is better' contest.. This thread is intended for posting samples/demos you find or make - designed specifically for comparisons of a software version of a hardware instrument... I dont want to hear how you think one sounds better than the other, bec...

Re: KORG radias
Just for the record, The Radias is basically an upgraded more powerful version of the MS2000, I think the thing that some people dont like is they changed the filters.. they sound more smooth and liquidy rather than the MS2000/microkorg being quite rough Somebody did a comparison of the R3 and the m...

Re: Cheap Groovebox for Synthpop/EBM
that's a crazy price for an RM1X! usually they're more than that... so if it's in good condition, that would be a good buy... That one has the most powerful sequencing options out of everything else listed there, but the built-in sounds are not great.. useable if you mess with them but not great.. T...

Re: Help choosing an analog modular synth
Since looks are so important, you could just build a fake giant panel with lots of plug holes and flashing lights, you could make it look way cooler than an actual synthesiser.
then out in the back room have a laptop running reaktor.
