have you tried just replacing the fuse?

that would be the first port of call.

Re: DIY Modular kits / DIY semi-modular kits?

Bridechamber has some interesting stuff, thanks! The boards may be cheap, the individual components (resistors, caps, etc) may be cheap - what adds up is the enclosure, the panel, the knobs, the pots, switches, power supply, the time spent drilling holes... soldering a few dozen little bits to a PCB...

Re: Pure 80s Disco Synth Theme!

sweet! - great moods.. If I were to provide some advice/criticism . . it could do with a bit more work in the mix, sounds kinda muddy over here. - things could do with some sharper definition, particularly in the low-mid-ish regions.. . it's hard for me to be too precise, not listening in ideal cond...

Re: Some sampler questions

maybe the yamah SU series. they're entirely designed around using loops. Sometime I wish the RS7k has 3 simultaneous fxs and 8-bit sampling like the SU700. While powerful, to me the RS7k is best as a proper midi sequencer, to integrate midi, internal synth and samples. I rarely do an all sample bas...

Re: So... What's up at Elektron?

thanks for the explanation.. and I don't think one encoder per step would be ideal at all there. With one encoder per step you'd have to assign which parameter to tweak - and then tweak. I find it works well.. you think of the whole track of a particular parameter, rather than thinking in steps - ch...

Re: need help buying a new synth

Yamaha • DX-200 Sequence Remixer be better than the rm1x? No. Did you read the specifications of each? The DX200 has a single melodic track + drum sequencing. The RM1X has 16 full track sequencing, waay more control. The RM1X is specifically designed to be a sequencer first and foremost.. whereas t...

Re: So... What's up at Elektron?

speaking of parameter locks, I predict elektron are going to come up with a cool name for some other already-in-existence function and that will be their big breakthrough. The revolution is not in thought, but in implementation... Elektron's forte has always been in the UI and parameter-locks is so...

Re: Synthesizing the word "die"

I forget, can you modulate the HP filter on the evolver? If you set the pitch to not track (every key plays the same pitch), but set both the filters to keyboard track, you could make a bandpass filter that you can play by keyboard (and not have to use any of the other filter modulation possibilitie...

Re: DIY Modular kits / DIY semi-modular kits?

The ASM-2 is ridiculously cheap! and has plenty of options to get me started... How does it sound? If I bought the ASM-2 PCB + the ASM-2 Component kit, would I need anything else from this page? (I will source the plugs, knobs, switches myself, and dont need to worry about the faceplate/case yet) ht...

Re: DIY Modular kits / DIY semi-modular kits?

Cheers for all the links! Well.. pretty safe to say I have no life...! I'm after the kind of thing where it's mostly pre-designed, pre-printed boards, but components require assembly... then I"ll probably just make a few control modifications if I see an opportunity. Circuit designing is a little be...

Re: So... What's up at Elektron?

I'm building my own sequencer (no mass production discount here!), it will sequence my blofeld, and all that will have cost me nearly half as much as a machinedrum... your building your own sequencer that will cost half as much as a machinedrum ? future-retro orb - costs as half as much as an MD do...

DIY Modular kits / DIY semi-modular kits?

I'm looking to get into modular synthesis but can't afford to buy much - I could start with a smaaall bit of a modular and add little bits over time, but if I'm going to do that, I figure I might as well make the bits myself (if there are savings to be made) I don't really mind if it's actual modula...
