This guy's prices are usually bazonkers, and certainly no exception here, but huge props to Harry Chamberlin for creating a "Caravan" beat:

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
An SP-12 Turbo just sold for $850.- here locally that I know of. SP-1200's go for ridiculous money. I would love one but can't see dishing out 2k for one. Drumulators... I think $200.- is wishful thinking, even though I personally wouldn't shell out the cash for it -- doesn't mean someone else woul...

Re: Ridiculous eBay 'Buy-it-now' and starting bids.
Keep me honest, board, but $200-ish? The last two that I saw were in the $50, but that's admittedly low-end and both had issues ... For reference, SP-12 Turbos go for @$500-$700, and those are Drumulators x10.space6oy wrote:how much do those usually go for?

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
i really want this, but i cant justify it right now. whoever buys it should sell it to me for this price if they hate it in 6 months :) if only i had the room. 120977000286 Honestly, avoid the DSM-1 ... it's a neutered version of the DSS-1. I've owned two of the latter, and while it's a space hog, ...

Re: POST ANY INTERESTING EBAY / CRAIGSLIST LISTINGS HERE!!!
I'm glad you have the gift of "minty" vision, but if you had looked closely at those photos it was actually two different Arp Odysseys in all those photos. Now, the seller has only two photos posted and that "minty" Odyssey you saw no longer has PPC. Ebay at it's best! Hmm, I'm not seein' it dude. ...

Re: Is this the infamous DX-7 "Rhodes" sound?
Heh, funny (ironically?) enough, there's a real rhodes in Whitney's vid at the :13 mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewxmv2tyeRs Still doesn't quite sound like typical DX7 rhodes to me ears - almost quintessential Dyno-My-Piano tones - but I guess that's studio magic at play. The DX7 was definitel...

Re: Is this the infamous DX-7 "Rhodes" sound?
Real Rhodes, heavily chorused ... just like he's "playing" in the clip. Song's from '83, the DX-7's birthyear. Tracks like this and Madonna's "Borderline" were pretty much the last time you'd hear real Rhodes on the radio for quite a while. ;-) If you're wanting a DX-7 electric piano example, I was ...
