Re: Dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say about synths
Employee in a local musicstore who tries to convince a potential customer that the Microkorg is one of the few synths who has the van Halen Sound synthesis also known as the Roland Supersaw. insane.. I've heard a lot of c**p from employees too, like how the Mc-808 supposedly was live a V-synth with...

Re: Evolve or stick to it
oh damn, how could I forget Squarepusher in this context.. truly an artist who re-invents himself with each album without ever leaving fans wondering if this is really squarepusher or not. In my eyes, squarepusher is a true artist, while aphex twin is more a concept than anything else.

Re: Evolve or stick to it
Another good example suitable to this argument is the music of DJ shadow. My first reaction upon listening to "The outsider" was WTF :!: :?: :!: totally. that album quickly found it's way into the "forgotten" box stashed in my basement. in fact, DJ Shadow was a one trick artist for me. Endtroducing...

Re: Restructuring my setup
-If you get the APC 40 and already have Live...that's all you need + the interface :) In fact, I'd keep the LP, it will double as your midi controller, and it adds analogue sound to your otherwise digital setup. sounds sweet to me :) oh, and the ES is tons of fun, but if you don't use it, it's easy ...

Re: Boss SL-20 Slicer
is there a post here where you don't reccomend the VF-1? :D and yeah, I used the ER-1 a lot when I had it, that's like 256 patterns, each with 2x 64 steps of input gating + delay... in fact, that is still a pretty awesome feature.. seriously, this and the ineko has been on my "ooh that sounds cool"-...

Boss SL-20 Slicer
so, did anyone here get one? like it? tweakability? can you edit the patterns? made a video demo of it using a synth/drum machine? ..didn't find much info or any videos showin the pedal being tweaked, and not just passively used, so any demo would be great!! I think this would be absolutely awesome ...

Re: Song From my Analogic EP in the works.
well, the 909 and x0x was easy to spot, I'm guessing the andromeda does the "lead", and maybe the dotcom is doing the buzzy bass? nice groove, although a little repetative at times. and did you move?

Re: Why buy hardware synths?
Because frankly, I'm too lazy to deal with software synths, audio configurations, drivers etc. I had a major freakout trying to get the nano-controllers to work, and after about a WEEK if not f**k getting it in trying to make software a part of my rig, I decided that if a $1000 synth that does the s...

Re: just assembled the SX-150 and..
Am I the only one who gets about 5 minutes worth of satisfaction from stuff like this? I used to love this type of stuff in principle, but in actually use it gets boring quick for me. no, I was pretty bored with the capabilities withing 5 minues, but the experience, the assembling it (ok, so it's t...
