Re: Boss VT-1/Other vocal processors, bitcrushers, & waveshapers
doesn't matter the format, it's the fun factor that counts ;) ..and I'd render it to mp3 to have in my mp3-player anyway, so that's cool :) now, let's find out if I can have the ESX run through the KP3 while at the same time have the KP3 play back goofy voice-samples? oh c**p, sometimes I forget tha...

Re: Boss VT-1/Other vocal processors, bitcrushers, & waveshapers
made these for another thread about the VT-1 a while back. http://space6oy.com/VSE/VT-1.aif http://space6oy.com/VSE/VT-weird.mp3 http://space6oy.com/VSE/VT3.mp3 you know, it's been a while since I've laughed this hard. love this :) maybe I can have the wav and use it (or bits of it) in my liveset i...

Re: what is the best synthesizer from the 2000's (2000-2010) ?
well, I haven't tried that many to tell, but to me, the Monomachine fits well in with the top of this decade. I also think certain synths that also will be regarded "classics" of this era are the Evolvers, Virus TI, Nord Modulars (or are they as old as the 90's? they can't be?) and maybe the Blofeld...

Re: just assembled the SX-150 and..
yeah, it's good for weird sounds, but not in a very musical way... with high levels of consentration I was able to play something that anyone would recognize as smoke on the water, but trying to play "I just can't get enough" was too difficult. just put it through my ESX for some fx, and it could ac...

just assembled the SX-150 and..
..jesus this thing is lot of fun :) it took me 20 minutes to put it together, my bet is anyone with any experience whatsoever can do it in less than 5, and it sounds very cool :) but what really got me was one part of the case design: it uses CARDBOARD for the bottom enclosure... crazy, strange japa...

Re: One is not enough!
no doubles yet, but for the current second hand price and sinking dollar/krone ratio, I am very tempted to pick up another Monomachine for fx and freeing up the mk2 to use the most of the mk2 features..

Re: Best DAW on PC?
no love for Live? I'm in the same boat, got Reaper, but want full fledged midi-capabilities (say, record the midi-data of all my synths while I jam, so that I can later record each individual sound/instrument without having to remember the order of patterns etc..), and Reaper has been good enough so...

Re: Nice Synth Shops in Oslo?
welcome to Norway :) I paid $1000 (6000NOK) for my Microkorg back in '04, so it's safe to say we have some outstanding prices compared to the international market here. Never bought musical gear within the country since, as eBay and the low USD completely kills the norwegian prices. h**l, even with ...

Re: VSE - Good trader/seller thread
Did a deal with sh8040, item arrived and I can't make it work. returned the item and got a full refund. turned out the fault was in the electronics guy who sold me the wrong norwegian PSU, so it's all fine now. surely a guy I wouldn't hesitate to deal with again

Re: yes hi
hearing this I can't possibly see why you'd want a MEK over the Fizmo.. the guitar part is unexpected, but actually works very well here. totally changing direction at 03:50, reminds me of NIN somehow... the production is what works the best here, you manage to keep a dense soundscape without it sou...

Re: Resist buying, save up for the big one
dumping everything but the ESX to buy the Monomachine was the best desicion I've made gearwise. then, not buying a couple pedals, a couple small synths, a couple fx racks for a whole year and then getting the machinedrum will hopefully prove to be the next best desicion ever made. but waiting is a b...

Re: Can I use speakers instead of monitors
well, to me, living with others means I can't spend hours making/mixing music. I can't imagine how it must feel having to listen to my 90 minute jams over a 3 second loop on a daily basis. Besides, I don't see why a good set of headphones (I have Denon AD-2000, stereo hedphones) should be bad for mi...

Re: Can I use speakers instead of monitors
well, I've always used (good) headphones for everything music-related, including messing with synths, recording and mixing. The problem with this is that a mix that sounds dope on my headphones will sound very different on a cheaper consumer-type product. for instance, my music sounds the way I want...

Re: Acidlab Miami - Review
Here are a couple of MP3 tracks with the Miami (160kbps). I'm changing tone, decay and levels throughout both the tracks. The 2nd track has a little reverb and is in shuffle mode [7]. Track-1: http://www.synmusic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Miami_test1.MP3 Track-2: http://www.synmusic.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk...

Re: Acidlab Miami - Review
you can't beat the look of this one, easily the nicest looking drum machine since the 606 imo ;) great review Syn, seems you took your time testing the unit thoroughly. I am suprised to hear it has 11 normal-sized jacks (unlike the bassline 1 and it's tiny, annoying outputs), that's a winner in any ...
