Re: Which Synths are Good For Making Percussion Sounds?
hey, slightly off topic, but how about if the VSE community made a sample pack of our own percussion-sounds? anyone who wanted to could contribute, and anyone on the board can use them? I bet we could come up with some real fun sounds using the synths we own.. Acidlab bassdrum anyone?

Re: Korg Micro Sampler
Yeah but then what about the other effects, or filter envelopes, or LFO modulation? I would really hope it has most of the stuff from the ESX, including motion sequences. I'm guessing there is a bit more there than meets the eye though, I've got a fair amount of faith in Korg's designers. in fact, ...

Re: What Was the Most Organic Sounding Synth Ever Released?
well, first thing that comes to mind is surely the CS-80? or that oddball yamaha synth that they only made like 10 or so of (GX1?) the one with its own speaker system and all?

I think I really need some focus Buying new bits of gear, often means spending less time with the gear you already have! +1 on that! I could have gotten bu...

Re: TAP TAP mc202
no I don't actually, but I do know that every function of every synth (maybe except some oddballs) are explained in it's user manual. a quick google should find you a scan of the manual or something similar.
did you try using the tap-button and see what happens?

Re: Do i need a di box for pedals?
Do I? I have synth-->pedal-->soundcard and I can swear sounds are appearing in my DAWaeon wrote:You need a re-amp box or buffered pedal to go from the synth to the pedal, then a DI to go from the pedal to a mic pre - or an active line-level DI to go from the pedal to a line input.
cheers,

Re: Name ONE favorite pedal (+more)
so, a quick scan through this puts the Boss DC-2 pretty high. I've always wanted one, and I've got the chance to pick up a good looking one for a decent price ($200 incl shipping). However, it has only a mono input? does it accept stereo sound through those splitter/merger adapters? because I'd love...

no regrets whatsoever selling my microkorg, ea, er and mc808.
did regret selling the holy grail pedal tho..hopefully getting the holiest grail soon
in fact, I've been on the fence wih both the Boss SYB-3 and PS-2 pedals, I would want those back before any of the synths I've sold :p

Re: your drum machine
Just got a Korg EMX-1 - it's loads of fun! Selling my MC-909. Cool, too, but not what I need at the moment. Still in love with the DR-110, CR-8000, and KR-55B, though. Scott how did the 909 compare to the EMX? I got frustrated with menu.diving and un-intuitive layouts with the MC808 enough to make ...

Re: your drum machine
Been thinking of the ESX-1 lately. Any reason not to get one? can be relatively noisy on the main outputs. the MnM is dead quiet, but the esx has a background noise that is loud enough that if I put my kp3 after it, I can hear the fx clearly when the machine is not playing. Might bug you since I kn...
