Re: Electribe Questions
+1 on the ESX being a fantastic little thing for the money, I just had a 2 hour session with just the ESX, and it is just the tool for sample mangling
save up a bit and get the ESX over the ES, it's worth it and then some

"The Owls" - Syn303 Remix!!
so, last week our fellow VSE'er Syn303 offered to do a remix of my track "The Owls are not what they seem", and here it is :) I think he did a great job, and the remix version is somewhat different than the original. both tracks are on my MySpace page: www.myspace.com/SiestaSubmarina I don't know wh...

Re: project 'launch': Blush Response
bloody h**l, this is brilliant stuff, very well produced, lovely sounds and rythms
one can tell you've listened a lot to depmod and the cure, and do I detect a goldfrapp'ish vibe to "Turn the lights down"? beautiful stuff, you could come far with this

Re: TR-909 vs. TB-303
yeah I definately feel the acidlab isn't as close as I was hoping it would be, but for the money, it's close enough. and most people wouldn't know hear a 303 from a tuba anyway, so I still stick to my choice as the right one. the ultimate would of cource be to have a real 303, but for that kind of m...

Re: TR-909 vs. TB-303
to me, I'd NEVER go for the actual 303/909, as they are just too much money. I'm well aware that my Aciadlab Bassline ($600 303 clone) only sounds similar to the Tb-303, but (to me atleast) the difference is not enough to justify getting the 303 instead (although I'd get the Bassline 2 if I was to c...

Re: Mono vs Mono
I've had the MnM for a week, and I must say, I love it like no other piece of gear I've owned. I also spent many hours in my local shop playing the Poly elvolver keyboard, and I much prefer the MnM for the kind of music I'm into. however, a combination of the MnM and MEK should be a very good live a...

Re: The Official 'Secrets of the Studio' Thread!
-listen to your stuff through different medias. I have a very crappy pair of headphones that cut out a lot of bass, hence I always boost the bass way too much. things will sound a lot different depending on where you listen. I always end up with my tracks being too quiet (comparing to any commercial...

Re: Synthesizer : Pro User / VSE'r Association
I'll do this, but only list the gear I actually have myself.. (I don't know much about who uses what...) Korg ESX - KJ Sawka MnM (& Machinedrum) - Richie Hawtin - runner ups Syn303 & JSRockit MC808 - DJ Strangefruit (beatmaker for jazz artist Nils Petter Molvær) Acidlab Bassline 1 - ehm, me actually...

Re: Floyd founder Wright dies at 65
:( mr Wright made some pretty amazing and beautiful pieces n pink floyd. the band would not have been anywhere near the same without him and his (genious, I must say) approach to the music. he was my keyboard hero from the first day my dad dug out his old dark side of the moon LP for me when I was a...

Re: Monomachine
Monomachine MK 2 arrived at my place today :) I spent a couple hours with the unit and I really think this is exactly how I'd want a "groovebox" to be :) didn't get the chance to dig very deep, but I made some very dope stuff with some of the pre-set kits, I can see why this is the weapon of choice f...
