I listened to the album when I saw this thread mostly in part because you said the word italo. That and I like royksopp and didn't even know they had a new album. I didn't really hear any italo and that made me sad. The album was ok. I like the previous ones more. "Eple" is the s**t. Was it just me ...

I especially liked hearing "Dirty talk" and "Let the music play". Reminds me how much I still want to eventually get an 808.

You could always ask one of the guys from the Horrors what synths they use. One of them posts on this forum apparently.

I first saw the word used on an underground electronic record in 1991 or 1992 - long before it was ever used in the mainstream as you describe. To that end, I wouldn't say it was a mainstream attempt as much as it was a mainstream appropriation. I wouldn't be surprised by that. Genre names come out...
