Re: Röyksoop Junior

I listened to the album when I saw this thread mostly in part because you said the word italo. That and I like royksopp and didn't even know they had a new album. I didn't really hear any italo and that made me sad. The album was ok. I like the previous ones more. "Eple" is the s**t. Was it just me ...

I especially liked hearing "Dirty talk" and "Let the music play". Reminds me how much I still want to eventually get an 808. :(

You could always ask one of the guys from the Horrors what synths they use. One of them posts on this forum apparently.

Re: Boards of Canada - hardware & software?

I first saw the word used on an underground electronic record in 1991 or 1992 - long before it was ever used in the mainstream as you describe. To that end, I wouldn't say it was a mainstream attempt as much as it was a mainstream appropriation. I wouldn't be surprised by that. Genre names come out...

Re: Boards of Canada - hardware & software?

I wish the term "Electronica" would die already. It was a mainstream attempt at labeling electronic music under one umbrella in the 90s. I will always see "Electronica" as the section for anything that didn't fit into Rock, Rap or Country at your run of the mill store that didn't have much of an un...

Re: ARP 2600 and Minimoog: A match made in Heaven

Where the h**l were you that you got to hang out with a 2600, and "some buchlas"...my dream studio? Noisebug. Briefly tried an Andromeda, Mopho and a Leipzig. There was a Prophet 5 and an Oberheim 4 voice but those weren't hooked up. Buchla's are a lot smaller than I thought. I was like these go fo...

I was like what an ARP 2800? I thought it was going to be something big like the 2500 but the number is after the 2600. Yep. An Odyssey. :happy7:

Re: ARP 2600 and Minimoog: A match made in Heaven

I finally got to try a 2600. If I had known I was going to cross paths with it I would've looked for the manual. It was awesome to behold. I liked the way it sounds even if it was through the internal speakers. Got some patch cables going and made some alright sounds but in the end I didn't to...
