I just record/edit into a computer.
It would be nice to use a hardware recorder, but I find it easier on a computer if I have to edit anything.

Re: Sample Player Module - Does it Exist?
The SP303 or 404 as mentioned above, would probably be my choice if it was me.

Re: Monotribe AC adapter question...
Not to be an annoying, but did this really require a separate thread...?
Surely you can buy a 9v adapter at any electronics store irrelevant of where you are in the world..?

Re: I enjoy the challenge of simplicity.....
I realised lately that I dont even really like synths that much, I just like drum machines and synths that you can program like a drum machine. (Interface wise anyway) Whenever I use synths I just end up overdubbing with one synth and all the others just get wasted so there isnt much point in me hav...

Re: Need help with voltage for imported vintage synth
You need a step up converter.
It will usually be in the form of a plug extension. It will convert the power output from your us wall socket and allow it to power the European appliance.

Re: I enjoy the challenge of simplicity.....
I havent got much space to use everything Ive got at once, so ive been planning this kind of minimal approach myself, especially since I dont play keyboards or anything.
I mean, at the moment Ive not even got any decent speakers or a mixer.

Re: Favorite Drum Machine Beat/Pattern
So many to choose from and hard to name a definate favourite, but I have always loved the beat on Joyce Sims' "Come Into My Life". I believe the drums were programmed by Mantronik, he's also credited as producer. Good bassline, and of course great vocals! She really can sing, unlike the nasal conge...

Re: Favorite Drum Machine Beat/Pattern
The original beat sounds like TR-909 to me. Theres definitely a 909 in there, plus some other layered sounds too, on the snare etc... Heres one thats been in my head lately, theres too many for me to pick a favourite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvIu4IA4NUE&feature=related It's essentially just ...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
I imagine it is partly a bit of strategy on Korgs part, but mostly, I think its just that MIDI on a single output, 8 step device is a little bit overkill, it would affect the price and the overall balance of the product. If they were to put MIDI in it, then people would say.. 'why no separate output...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
I really don't get the MIDI thing. Is it because people want to trigger the sounds using an external device. Or just for easier sync..?

Re: Beat Thang ...
I remember when they challenged the CEO of any other company to a beat making contest. Oh yeah, that was awesome! Roger Linn would quite easily be the winner of that challenge... The Beat Thang was one of those things I wanted to succeed, but ultimately down the line the original vision seems to ha...

Re: Korg Monotribe ?
Thought Id put this here rather than the listening lounge simply because it's pretty much all monotribe, except for the moog delay on a couple of sounds, moog ringmod on a background beat and the murf during the swirly stereo lead sound... All of the sounds were made on the monotribe, and I havent d...
